Qantas extends priority boarding to SG frequent flyers

PER still hasnt got the updated stickers on the boarding signs for SG to board with J and WP pax.

Noticed this on every gate today.

Im hoping this is permanent :)

This announcement seems to be about turning an unpublished SG benefit into a published one. I've never been turned away from PB as an SG to date. Just browsing this thread, it seems no-one has.

Not that it's an issue anyway. It seems the only people who can really benefit from PB are those who brought too much carry on - the rest stay in the lounge and board last.

Not unpublished, just poorly enforced

It is those with too much carry on that make the rest of us board early to get a space for our meagre offerings.

Or deliberate. ;)

No joy in Adelaide, with NBs beckoned forward and in front of us in the PB line, then both lines processed so that we ended up back a bit in the scrum of people boarding. Only as we were on our way down the ramp did the announcement come for priority boarding...

so do the new signs are good, but no enforcement by the staff.

Precisely why premium boarding is always a fail in ADL IMO.

The lack of standardization is confusing and should be resolved. On Tuesday in PER, the sign said WP and business so as a SG I queued on the right. Coming out of Sydney, the sign said SG could join the left lane until half way down when the announcement contradicted this. Reluctant to use a privilage I am not entitled to, I moved to the end of the right line.

Red Roo, please just sort this out. It is simple in my view, Business, WP and above use the PB, everyone else just go in the other lane.

You're entitled, whether or not the sign says it.

As SG you can use the Priority Boarding. Every sign I have seen and all announcements I have heard reflect that.

Think someone forgot to add SG to the sign at PER in Ashleyns case.
But when the annoucement came up for that SYD flight, mmm, that one was odd.
I have also noted PB always has been for SG upwards. I flash my SG card and have not been ushered to the right.
For me, QF staff in this regard are much better than VAs treatment of me as PS.
Have had empty seat and empty row for my sole use as a QF SG, but VA never gave me anything.

CNS has updated PB sign.

When will Gold be allowed entry to lounge on arrival?

I sometimes get denied arrival lounge access as a WP. Depends on the lounge attendant I think.

Happens to me also in PER but i just bring out the rule book on my phone and am let in, not once have i had access without explaining "lounge access on arrival"

Still dont agree with SG getting PB but luckily in PER there is only 1 PB sign that has gold on it.

I do too, but sometimes when you've got an old grandparent telling you off as if you're 10 (I'm 29 so they like to call me honey or darling) then I just decide not to waste my time and get a coffee downstairs.

Maybe so, but BNE - ADL with a whole 3 rows to myself, now, ooooch me lucky tail!
I will have another one coming back BNE - ADL again soon on 09 Jun, will test it out and see if I get an op up this time, paws crossed, if not, ... I might get a seat shadow, or nowt.
