Current menu - I prioritised a shower and didn't have a chance to try anything on a short layover.

Interesting. That's different to the menu I had last Thursday. There was another Asian noodle dish as a main which was delicious! I can't recall what it was called and didn't take any pictures. I should be banned from AFF for that :)

Worth the diversion!
Quick diversion indeed.

Trying to get in and out before QF2 lands.
The staff were a bit confused when I just wanted S&P Squid and Pannacotta and that I wanted it together.

Also happened again, got questioned if I had access because the mobile BP didn't have status on it instead of just scanning my bp.

I will work on it next Monday on my bi-weekly MH SIN - KUL hop in Y . I always laugh about that one as my airfare is around SGD 250 return, and I spend 4 hours + beforehand in the QF F lounge making the most of it 😉

Very Interesting. I was also there last Thursday (only for a short period prior to schlepping it down to the end of the C-wing for QF72), and this looks like the same menu as the one I had?!

I was underwhelmed by the gnocchi btw.

There was one more dish in this section that the hostess insisted we try. She wasn't wrong.

We were on the same flight then! I was in 3F. My schlep was interesting as I saw to QF pilots who happened to be the guys operating our flight. We spent the walk having a good old chat.

I'll give the menu a good try out over the next week with two trips to KUL and one to MEL - although two of those are in Business, so QR will get a look in.

Nice! Unfortunately it's not a long enough flight for me to be up front. I was hoping for one of those WP upgrades I've been hearing so much about, but alas, still no luck for me on that front.

Laksa is a very nostalgic dish for me. Alas, I'm pretty much 100% vegetarian these days. I used to put that on pause when traveling, but generally now it's getting easier so it's rarer that I'll do so. And the Singapore lounge menu is usually pretty good. I do find the staff at the Singapore F Lounge to be the best in the network as well. Always happy to stop in for a meal knowing it'll be good service.

So this is interesting. I was only in J due to a WP upgrade too from a discount economy ticket. Only put my request in about a month prior to travel.

100% agree with you about the F lounge staff being the best. Miles ahead of SYD and MEL.

But is that in the KF Gold Lounge, or the SilverKris lounges?

Where eligibility is tied to higher margin pax and travel, you can more easily justify a more premium product.

Make class of service a factor, like SQ and QR, or remove access for JQ to the QF F lounges, and they could probably reassess their offering too.

Cheers,
Matt.
