Qantas First Lounge Spa

The all day menu kicks off at 11am (but you can pre-order if you know what you’re after)

I'm flying first class internationally for the first time (hooray!) in a month or so out of Sydney, so had some questions that I hoped someone more regular could help out with about QF First Lounge. I'm going since there seems to be a consensus that QF First Lounge > Emirates Lounge:

Is the all-day menu available at breakfast, and what should I order there as a first-timer?
I booked Emirates via Qantas as a codeshare, do I get a spa invitation call the day before?
Is it worth going to the lounge as soon as it opens (5am)?

(I'm flying in the morning, around 8am).
You won’t get a Spa appointment. Prebooking is only for QF F pax and it isn’t open early enough in the morning for the EK departure.

The menu at QF F is breakfast at that time. All day starts at 11am.
To be honest with you unless you are really keen to get to QF F I would just skip it, arrive at the airport a bit later and just go to the EK Lounge.
It’s closer to their departure gates.

Hello AFF's
I was fortunate to get a reward First Class seat a couple of days ago, flying this Tuesday from Manchester. There doesn't seem to be the option of spa treatments at MAN but I can see that there is in Dubai. I only have a short transfer time in Dubai 1 hr 25 min.
Am I able to prebook a spa treatment before I leave? I can't see anything on the website.
I'm not likely to fly first again anytime soon so would love to get the full experience.
I flew business on the way out and only just made the connection with a 35 minute transfer time (should have been 1 hr) so didn't experience any lounge at all.
Also, any tips for a rookie First Class pax?
Would love to hear how you went @squeeze72 Was it everything you hoped?

@rjwx , you must be ready to head off soon?
Let us know how you go in F Lounge

I got to the Syd F lounge at 2.05pm yesterday and was told no chance of a booking, "they are just starting the last treatments now'. That would time it to finish just as boarding for QF1 starts at 2.25pm for its current 3.10pm departure.

As an F pax I got an email the day before asking if I wanted a booking, but as I had to fly from ADL with only a 100 minute connection I didn't think it was fair to make a booking ahead of time that I might miss due to potential flight delays. I only got 20 mins in the lounge in the end, so not sure a spa booking would have been all that relaxing anyway!

A simple question from a newbie to the Sydney int'l QF First lounge. If I want to attend the spa, how early should I be in the lounge to give enough time to queue in for my turn? I have a midday departure on a weekday and would love a massage before being wedged between the window and a seat neighbour. The booking is in Y so I'll be at the mercy of what's available when I go into the lounge.

As soon as possible. Upon walking into the lounge ask if there is a spa time available.

Basically, it's first come, first served for people not eligible for prebooking. 💆

Enjoy, I find it's a great experience.

I’m flying JQ international in January from SYD to MEL. My understanding of JQi is that check in opens 3 hours prior to departure (13:10). Supposing I manage to check in and get to the QF Flounge at 10:30 is there any chance of my partner and I snagging a QF spa appointment? Relatedly, how do the showers work? Is it a reservation system as well? If there was a wait for the spa/shower is it something I can head to dining before enjoying both? Or maybe I should enjoy dining first then cut everyone off 45 mins before my flight departs 😂

In my experience, its first come, first served for non F customers (who can reserve appointments) for the spa - just ask as soon as you enter the lounge if there is a spot available. Sydney tends to be tight for walk-up appointments; Melbourne much better availability.

I've never used the showers in the F lounge but I doubt there will be a problem getting to use them. For most pax there, the Flounge is prior to their first flight of the day. Again, ask at the front desk on entry how they are looking for use.

It's your tales about showers in LAX which prompted me to see if I can optimise my movements in SYDi so that I have a chance for a spa treatment. I'm actually less interested in the food & drinks though will sample some to get a light meal before the flight.

I ended up collating the departing OW flights from SYDi on a list. I'm on QF291 and looks like my sweet spot is when there's an exodus to the gates at around 10:25 - 10:45. I.e. check-in by 10:00, in the lounge by 10:20 and hoping to get into the spa by 11:20. I value my time at home more than at a lounge, hence the desire to try to optimise the timing.

I have used the shower without needing to book in both MEL F and SYD F. If you’re travelling solo with extended lounge time it’s nice to freshen up and have a shower. The shower suite is bigger than my bathroom at home.

Spa treatments are more difficult to come by though I haven’t asked for one in a while.

I’ve only ever been asked once in many years of visiting the SYD F lounge. I put it down to my apparent youthful looks….😂

I don't even think the SYD F showers have a booking system. You just help yourself.

I've never had to wait.
I’ve never thought about! 😁

But if QF1 gets delayed further I could check them out….

Plus 1 to this comment - go for a shower whenever you want. If there isn't a clean shower, just find an attendant and ask them and they will clean and re-equip for you.
