Yep. Finally working. Anyone see the tiny free postcard? That's coz there's not much to write home about. No on line check in. No automatic seat finder in MEL QP on a Sunday afternoon. Non fast replenishment of food in same. No priority boarding queue at MEL. No personal AVOD on 737. Maybe my expectations are a little high. I wonder what Rain Man would say about this app.

Sounds more like a case of having an app because everyone else has one rather than having one that is useful, its a pity the effort cannot have been directed to other QF IT areas that need fixing.

Finally worked, but was disappointed as usual.

I foolishly thought you might actually be able to book an award seat using the app. How silly of me to expect some non read-only functionality.

Agree it's pretty ordinary, nowhere near as useful as the QF app. Will be deleted on my next sync

Got a reply from QF after my feedback. They told me that seat selection and bookings will be in a future version. I am still deleting it!

Good to know.

Anyone else notice the size of the app. It’s 14.5MB compared to the 336KB of the old app. I guess they’ve included all the images for different award types in the app, but you’d think they could have pulled that information from online. I guess it’s not that bloated, but still seems abnormally large for what it is.

Guys just remember the QF 'app' isn't really an app, it's basically just a bookmark to a m-site!

That's why it was so small in file size.

QF's strategy no doubt will be to continue to improve the m-site.
Makes heaps more sense from an IT perspective.

The QFF app is a nice to have, I like having the list of partners handy, had forgotten some of them.

Oh I realise that, I just don’t see why the new app couldn’t pull certain images from the web, instead of including everything in a bloated app. Most apps are more full featured and smaller than the new Qantas app.

So I hope they include check-in and seat selection and other stuff in the future, but I hope the app doesn’t double in size for offering those features too

Just a thought, when using the app and linking to a inserted thread on someone's post it brings up the post in Safari as though you were a guest. Can the app be adapted to link to the webpage with the member logged in as it is annoying to have to do this when you have exceeded the amount of "lurks" you can have ?

I have similarly thought that, but wonder how such a thing could be implemented. I fear internal linking and such takes the app to a much more advanced state then it is now and would take a lot of development + might clutter the app too much?

I think you are probably right, however the QF app when logged in will take you to the main QF site logged in on your QFF homepage so it is at least technically possible.
