Have just purchased some credits to activate the lounge passes for an AMEX card. Will let you know how I go.

I've also purchased some credits last week, via a (non bank affiliated) Amex. Will post back here if anything comes of it.

Purchased the credits on Monday (just over $3) and now have the lounge passes so it still works!
For which card?

Given I made a purchase on Dec 23 and no passes have been awarded, this does not appear to be working for all cards.

Qantas Amex Ultimate

Thanks for the update. That's what I made to use my purchase as well, albeit nothing yet.

If I recall correctly I thought I heard something some time back that the date you received the passes was related to your billing statement date. Has yours passed recently by any chance? Maybe I'm mistaken though

Remember it needs to be over $1

Edit: I say this because I tried to get away with $0.73 and it didn't work

Yeah mine was certainly over $1, albeit not to the lofty heights of $3, haha. Posted as "QANTAS AUSTRALIA AUSTRALIA"

I'm also surprised it got 'credited' so quickly in scash's instance - I thought it was known as a 1-2 week thing. A few days is a damn good turnaround. Oh well, I'll hang out a bit longer before giving it another crack.

But all hope may not be lost just yet, I notice:

"The Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations will be made available within 14 business days of meeting eligible spend "

Last I had a westpac card I had to go through a convoluted process of registering with a different website both prior to the spend. @Dr Ralph have you done those steps already? Sorry if you have and posted it in another thread, i've unfollowed a few recently Lounge access

Yes I was pleasantly surprised as well as I had also read it would take up to 2 weeks. This is what shows on my statement -

My most recent statement issued on the 22/12 so before this purchase. This transaction is at the start of the cycle.

Thanks for that info @Scash - looks like I jumped the gun yesterday, or the airline gods were looking over my post, as I've just received them. So it took about a week or so, including the shortened business week.

Yes registered card first.

MMB is still advertising carbon offsets and linking out to qantasfutureplanet.com.au:

Gave QFF a call as I was keen to offset an upcoming SYD-MEL return flight but can't do so! 😏

They could replicate that the website was down but couldn't explain why, and will raise it internally.

The only way to purchase a carbon offset now is during the booking process, via the regular web site booking engine (not the booking engine when redeeming a flight voucher, for example) or when booking via a travel agent.
