If you follow Qantas on Facebook you'll see a recent post regarding QFF 'enhancements'. This was immediately followed by a barrage of negative comments along the lines of what has been posted on this forum.

I would encourage all of you disenchanted QFFs (and WPs particularly) to make your voice heard on this post. It is clear that QFs Facebook reps are a bit rattled as they have already posted a follow up comment promising that they will take the feedback to QFF.

It's been mentioned in the other thread, but yes they have copped a basting - ok some of the replies were from AFF members, but there were a lot they weren't. I really don't think they were expecting that sort of negative response.

So Qantas introduce a raft of improvements to the FF scheme, with the only pain being a slight increase in points for some services, and they get hit with 50 pages of "his enhancement is bigger than mine!".

And you want to encourage this kindergarden behaviour??!??

I don't think Qantas is rattled ..... just disappointed. It is particularly depressing to note that some enhancements (like Uber-Platinum status) were demanded by AFF contributers.

You should post that on FB to help balance things

Well it's just funny that the improvements adopted are not for many of the WPs. Yes, the forum suggested the improvements, but they also suggested many other imrpovements that have not been adopted. Hopefully, these are yet to come, but in the mean time many platinum members are left with no improvements, reduced relative value and a promise that delivery of the things we should currently get is being worked on.

It's disappointing. I hope there is more to follow, but meanwhile all I have to judge is what has been announced.:(

I think the word "improvement" is subjective. And that is the difference.

Everything said there has been echoed already here on AFF.

On a personal note, I really don't give a rats about the changes as much as others have. Some of the posters need to exercise some serious restraint, and frankly get a grip.

QF is a business, they'll act like a business, and do what's right for them. If you don't like the changes to the offering, vote with your feet and sod off to another airline/alliance.

The "ONLY" pain?

You are forgetting the probable million plus loyal, but irregular Qantas travellers who may fly, say, SYD-PER rt once or twice a year having their accumulated Loyalty wiped on Dec 1.

...

You may not give a rats - others do. I as a WP will be worse of unless I change my travel patterns - other airlines/alliances are seriously being considered.

The problem is that qantas are not saying to us for the good of our business we're reducing benefits. Instead they are trying to sell it as exciting changes to benefit us. If qantas came out and said look we can't afford to give you these benefits anymore so they go, or qualification levels are going to increase. It would be much more acceptable then this slow drawn out erosion.

I really think people need to get over it.

Too many people have a sense of entitlement... It's just like the engineers who want everything.

If you don't like the changes stop using QF, go live your life... QF is a business

Personally I'm happy with the changes even though I'm a WP with no prospect of hitting WP1.

I think I'd kill myself if i had to deal with people like this in Customer Services...

it's all Me memememememememem me what about me? it isn't fair...

I got an email from Qantas telling me about exciting new changes to the program that primarily benefit people other than me not long after they have taken away benefits - essentially my loss of partner gold is now funding extra points for some less frequent fliers and I shouldn't feel disgruntled?

People keep going on about how "if you don't like it then change your travel patterns". If you actually read either the posts here or the comments on facebook you will see that many of us who are disgruntled are doing exactly that. So instead of telling us to get over it you should perhaps read the comments and posts and make a rational comment yourself.

1. Can you see that QFF people are acting like engineers who are threatening to strike?

2. With the latest batch of changes the only bad thing is the Loyalty bonus (for some people), everything else is a positive and they haven't taken away anything from anyone, just improved PS and SG.

3. Far too many whingers, QF could have not changed a thing and people would be continue on fine and dandy but they decided to give PS and SG more and give uber flyers something to aim for.

My comments were purposely written in away to mirror the whingers so they can have a look at themselves. I did read the posts, you need the ability to take a step back and see the juxaposition...

Simon - specifically to your situation I agree that you should feel disgruntled about the PG loss but that's not to do with this current batch of changes I was referring to. I agreed with you in that thread that moving the goal posts mid year isn't the right thing to do. But that was announced awhile back. I'm just commenting on this current update.

Correct. The Y flaying platinum member hasn't lost out in the cabin/status changes. But they did miss out on getting an improvement in point earning.

I don't think you can just comment on the current change as it is part of a continuum of changes that are having a negative impact. I personally would have been ok with the changes if they had given WP 25% extra like they did for PS/SG. As it stands now the difference between SG and WP is the F lounges pretty much for me so I might "go on strike" - I dont like the changes so I vote with my feet - like the engineers could - they could choose to leave QF if they didnt like it...

Yep qantas is a business. A business that said we'll give you something if you fly with us enough. Otherwise:

Your post is a gross misrepresentation of what people are expressing. Would you rather that I discuss how the changes affect you. Something I know nothing about. Or talk about how I feel.

Qantas have marketed these changes as exciting, that is about feelings, they want us to feel excited about the changes. Now if I don't feel excited, according to your world view, I need to shut up an get over it. Sorry it just doesn't work like that, my feelings are just as valid as your happiness. At the very least qantas should want to know if we are not feeling excited by the changes as per their expectation that we would. I suggest that you should focus on your feelings and stop trying to bully people into not expressing their feelings.

I think gumby or grumpy or whatever their name is is just trying to stoke us up more :) He is entitled to his opinion, but I don't think he'd have much luck if we opened it up to a vote! So we should continue the me me meeeee whining as much as we like in my opinion!

I worked out that all my flights this year were worth $150-200k to Qantas. If someone came up to me in the street and asked me for $200k, I certainly want to know what I was getting out of the deal.

Yeah it was an intentional jab at people, sorry if the jab provoked anger...

I'm not angry in any way. Just surprised at the direction of the jab. They're not really valid points given the circumstances even if true. As for the ME, who else am I going to talk about? I am a WP after all.

You're quite right but not that many people are posting in a level head way (as you did there) but posting like a 5 year old. You read through the forum at there are others like me who are trying to tell people to calm down... I jsut read over the FB posts and it's worse...

My view to all this was, geez QF had taken a bit of flack over the last 12 months for eroding beneifts but now they are actually trying to give a bit more. Yes it didn't improve everyone equally but people should be happy for the fact that should the burn rate stay the same QF have become more generous overall. Yes I'm sad that I'm in the group of people that benefit the least but the program as a whole has taken a step forward and I congratulate QF.

I wonder if QF are thinking this way:

Any WP who flies domestically for work and switches to DJ, JQ or (amusing thought) TT as a result of these changes will pretty soon be back with QF when they get sick of ringing their business contacts to say "my flight has been delayed / cancelled and I will now be with you at x time instead of the time we previously arranged".

It is my opinion that DJ, JQ and TT are aimed at price-sensitive travellers. If you are a time-sensitive traveller domestically then you really have no viable alternative to QF, based on my personal experience. (And I'm not saying QF is perfect either).
