Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Booked a flight to AKL in J next year and paid the $6 to make it be carbon neutral (and earn the tick for QFF Green tier) on Friday. Haven't seen the tick appear yet but would be curious if it would show up this program year (when I made the booking and purchased the carbon) or next program year (when I take the flight)?

It will show up in a couple of days - based on when you paid, not when you fly.

Should show up a couple of days after you make the booking. It took about 2 days for me to get the green tick for a recent booking I made earlier this week.

I'm not sure if I will ever get my SCs, anyone else stuck without? I've had no follow up from my initial Qantas email that said they are looking into it

Update: Just checked my account today and saw the green tick appear for the carbon I bought for that flight. I now only need to jump through two more hurdles to get green: purchasing "green" wine and buying carbon for my house.

For the wine, I'm curious whether the wine needs to be purchased from the QF Wines page linked to on the QF site or if it could be any eco wine on offer at QF Wines? For instance, in the latest QF Gold newsletter there is a link to a QF sustainable wines 12 pack at a decent price.

Cheers,

I just purchased the $1 carbon neutral delivery option in the rewards store without ordering anything at all from Qantas Wines and got the tick for this one. By all means if you're thirsty grab a wine but it's not mandatory.

The only requirement to get the tick is to choose the green/sustainable delivery option when you order.

I did this about a week ago and I'm still waiting for the tick to appear. Perhaps time for an email to Qantas.

I ticked that delivery option and purchased a single bottle of wine still no option to select points or SCs and am wondering if the first sentence of this clause is my undoing.

It certainly makes things clear as mud, but I'm going off the Green Tier page which says:

Choose sustainable

Make a positive impact, shop sustainably when you purchase wine from eco wineries** or opt to make your Qantas Wine or Rewards Store delivery climate positive.

In which case I think that or gives you a pretty good argument that you should get your tick. What's really baffling is that mine went through without issue and yet arguably what I did (buying just the delivery offset) is outside the T&Cs:

Do I need to purchase this product with another item from the Rewards Store or Qantas Wine?
Yes, to be eligible towards Green tier activity, Climate Positive Delivery must be purchased alongside one other item from the Rewards Store or Qantas Wine.

So I'm not sure why there's so much variance on what is triggering Green Tier for different people, other than of course, the rickety Qantas IT ship that we're all riding.

Hmmm. I can‘t remember seeing that. Maybe that has changed. Anyway my page is showing 5/5 tasks done but no option to choose the bonus yet.

@33kft I tend to agree what you have posted, QF T&Cs are at best just words on paper and have no resemblance what one can get away with. I signed up for the green tier status thing knowing I would have to make a donation of points to gain a net increase of around 7000 points. The single bottle of wine has been consumed and I would just like for the SC/Points option to appear so I can select one and then potentially cancel the rewards flight that were booked to obtain green status. IMO this whole green tier stuff is just marketing and social engineering on a new level and will admit I was drawn into the game for a few extra points;)

Another data point here. On an android phone, the Qantas App, Chrome, and Mozilla are unable to choose rewards. On PC, chrome, and Edge no joy either.

I am prompted with the 'Choose your reward' button but it leads to nowhere to make an actual selection.

Anyone here that only purchsed the carbon free delivery without attached items, completed the full challenge, and got the option to pick a reward?

Yep, but this was the day Green Tier was announced. Given the apparent T&C change above, they might've cracked down on this.

I bought the carbon free delivery in the same cart as the points donation, and got all the ticks but no reward. Perhaps this is the reason

Seems like this specific t&cs change occured between 13 and 19 March, as the wayback machine has saved two versions on this dates.
Reading t&c is already annouying enough, if we need to keep tracks of changes now...

I think the key metric now is how long it takes from completing the 5 green leaves to being presented the options to choose your reward. In my case, green leaves show 5/6 completed on 25 March and now burning fuel in the holding pattern to be offered reward selection. 4 days so far, but it seems the wait is around a week for most people so not concerned yet.

Not sure when this was added, but you can now offset existing flights. Just go into My Bookings, and you'll see this under existing bookings without an offset:

Saw that yesterday and clicked on the link but it didn't work! However, it is working now so I'ld guess it is a very recent addition.

Edit: 182 points for SYD-CFS for 2 Pax. No option to pay in $ (at least I couldn't see any).

Is there anyone here is who is a Green Tier with a 31 March FF anniversary? Just wondering once you tick over to a new year, if the Green tasks to requalify change?
