Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

If they wanted to really put their money where their mouth is, they could offer DSC for all flights offset by carbon credits.
nice idea, but almost zero (emission) chance of this. Perhaps as a one off promo, but I think it would be more an earn of SC ties to the amount of the carbon offset. Remember it's just a few $$ for the shorter domestic legs (iirc) to offset, I mean if you gave DSC for <$5 everyone would be Platinum pretty quick. I would suspect single digit SC earn in such a scheme.

Plus if you can earn 10SC for flying MEL-SYD, I can't see it making sense to double that for another couple of bucks. Very nice for sure, but that wouldn't pass the bean counters imo.

Would QG suffice?
Qantas Green.
Nothing else goes close to that.
I will start speculating) >>> NB, this is my take **((QG))** PS, SG, WP... P1.
If we need a top status, QT (Qantas Titanium)?
Excepted it's going to be
QG, PS, PSG, SG, SGG WP, WPG, WP1, WP1G

Or maybe Green silver, Green Gold and Green Platinum sounds better

Pricing varies by state, but it's amusing that ACT costs more than NSW when ACT is already running on 100% renewable electricity.

My partner and I both chase SC, I wonder if they will count a single 2 person + 1 car offset payment against two FF accounts in the same household, or if we are expected to purchase our own individually. It seems this category is going to be an honour system anyway, although if you hold Qantas car insurance it might be difficult to argue that you don't own a car 🤣

Qantas Wine has a small selection of food & non-alcoholic options. $20 fancy salt perhaps? Guess it depends how many SC are on the table.
Well not really, ACT take whatever electrons are in the wires, regardless of source. They just do some fancy accounting to claim 100% renewable.

I wonder if they'll do an address check across multiple accounts.

Not sure how else an entity can operate on 100% renewable unless they build a discrete grid connected directly to a renewable source?

The fed gov GreenPower certification is based entirely around purchasing your consumption's worth of energy from a renewable source but taking whatever electrons are in the wire to your premises. If you aren't consuming the renewable electrons purchased, someone else out there who isn't paying for renewable energy will be - resulting in a decrease in overall emissions.

This makes a lot of sense. I believe it will be treated like PC and PCP as an "extra" thing you have attained rather than a separate status level per se.

I also doubt Green status in and of itself will amount to much in terms of priority for things like upgrades.

Just saying, it's not 100% renewable. It can't be, there are times when the so called renewables simply do not provide enough electrons to power the ACT. At those times, when there is no renewable power available, everyone is using non-renewable electrons. ACT simply cannot be 100% renewable. This is the reality of a grid. Similar to SA claiming to be 100% renewable, it's a joke.

This is why emissions are not decreasing. Live CO₂ emissions of electricity consumption

You know you are a QF Green tier FF when ....

1. On entering the aircraft, you are given a washable hand towel that you need to use for the entire duration of the flight

2. You need to bring your own water bottle and the crew will fill it onboard on request

:D:D

Will add more as and when something strikes my mind :p others are welcome to contribute too :D

As for status, going back to that, would it start with Bronze, or start with Green, as for AFF that is, ...
Qantas has said that the "Green tier will sit alongside the exiting Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One membership levels". I imagine it will work similar to the Points Clubs (or Qantas Club). So you might be Gold with a Green tier "stripe" or Platinum without.

Obviously Bronze.

You do nothing to "earn" Bronze status apart from join up.
I guess I missed a couple then.
And QG? Can you be a non QFF member but also Green? I doubt it. since no qantas account...
So:

Excepted it's going to be
QG, NB, NBG, PS, PSG, SG, SGG, WP, WPG, WP1, WP1G

Or maybe Green silver, Green Gold and Green Platinum sounds better
+PC ->
NB, NBG, PS, PSG, SG, SGG, WP, WPG, WP1, WP1G, NBPC, NBGPC, PSPC, PSGPC, SGPC, SGGPC, WPPC, WPGPC, WP1PC, WP1GPC

Shame we cant get a BFG in there somewhere...

reminds me of

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT? 'Cause if it leaks to the VC he could end up MIA, and then we'd all be put on KP
