Interestingly you only have until 31 January to choose your reward- isn't it usually 90 days @Flyerwin?

I think there is a Qantas bug.

I just logged in to my Qantas account, and I see this:




I deliberately left 1 activity undone until end of the year, and it's still not done.

I also don't see an option to choose, so there must be a bug somewhere in the system, and I got that email in error.

I was deliberately avoiding getting green tier until end of the year but surprisingly just got this email. Interesting. I wonder what I did. lol.

Strange, when did you trigger it? I donated to the Great Barrier Reef thing, on 30/12, I have until 30/4/2025 to select (I assume it only went green yesterday or today, so you get the month plus three, it seems).

Agree, seems to be a glitch.

Like you @Flyerwin I am leaving "give back" until a month out from my anniversary in June.

I did the offset a couple of hours ago for my last leaf, so will report back.

(Last year, I got the last leaf and was informed I'd requalified but needed a manual intervention to get the 10k point reward after requalifying. This year, it's the 50SC as I'll fall over the line to SG with them. )

On 2 January, fully 12 days after doing the offset, I got an email indicating I'd requalified for Green Tier. Hooray... Finally... Right! Right? Errr... no...

Upon login, I see that the offset leaf is not showing and 'offset flying' is not showing as 'Done'. Another manual intervention is needed. Email to Qantas being dashed off now...

Afterwards, and yes they were deducted immediately.

Pretty flawless experience for me.
Quiz, offset existing booking, offset home, bought some wine and made a donation - all in one go and my reward appeared within 24h.

I chose not to renew green tier this year. I had 3 leaves with a couple of weeks to go but it would have cost 3,200 points to make a donation plus 8,700 points to offset my Tassie holiday home so that I could get 10,000 points back; a loss of 1,900 points.

Since I reached LTG and have almost no chance of making WP in the coming year, the SCs are of no value to me.

You will be happy to know, hotel points, though posted a few weeks later @Buzzard are counted from the day of check in.

My hotel points have started coming through and, as @Flyfrequently niotes, the points are counted for the day of check-in (not when they post). Well.....at least they are not adding to the count for my new year; I guess I'll have to wait until all the stays post to confirm whether they will be automatically counted towards points club for my previous year or I'll have to request manual intervention.

I can also confirm that points from Qantas Wine post the same way. I have an order that posted to my account on 1/1/25 but as it was despatched on 30/12/24 the points have not added to the tally in my new year and will presumably be counted in the previous year.

I just checked my emails and PC+ email with vouchers came through on 24 July, also the 100 SC's posted.

Anyone had issues getting their green tick after switching gas to Red Energy? I switched on 21 Nov and received email from Red Energy in December confirming the switch. Terms and conditions say green tick will be received within 40 days of the switch but QFF are demanding a red energy invoice which I don’t have as they only bill each quarter and my FF year finishes this month.
Very frustrating, wish I had selected one of the other options.

Think only Electricity Red plan gives green leaf @Aggi
I did have a delay in getting my leaf last year after I switched (gas & electricity)I emailed a page from my contract.

Just checked, you need to add Green power, a slightly higher rate.

I believe the whole listing itself needs to show the green leaf, not just a single bottle out of the dozen.

It would not qualify. Wine purchases which qualify for a Green leaf have an icon of a leaf on their image, eg this one:
