I was totally over thinking it... trying to link planets with obscure airport codes!

I missed this part - but welcome news!
Qantas has also announced improvements to its inflight food and drink options, including news that complimentary beer and wine for economy passengers will now be available across all domestic and regional flights, rather than just available to purchase on certain flights.
Qantas trumps Virgin with better deal on waiving change fees
Qantas has trumped Virgin with a significantly more generous policy waiving the fees passengers have to pay to rebook flights.australianaviation.com.au
People know exactly what to expect when they book with Qantas, whether its complimentary food and drinks, baggage, fast Wi-Fi or access to dozens of lounges around Australia.

However it's now even more complex than ever with different layerings of commercial and waiver policies applying to bookings based on book by / travel by dates — rather than retrospectively applying these new rules to existing bookings to try and achieve some kind of uniformity.
I can confirm it is a broad change fee waiver. So you can re-route, change dates, etc. You can even exchange it for international (but you lose the GST already paid). Not to be pedantic, but strictly speaking aren't the "unlimited fee free changes" limited to date changes only? So I'm assuming you can't change your city pairs without incurring the usual change fee for the fare type purchased. Not terrible but also not the "the highest level of flexibility" as Qantas would want you to believe at first blush.
Need to figure out how to effectively use my covid flight credits. Apparently covid credits carry original booking terms re change/cancellation. So might need to mix and match different ‘fare’ types eg reward flight where risk of border action, covid credits where no risk.Well this offer worked for my neighbour who has not set foot on an airline for 11 months (!!!!! Yup that long) to book a quick weekend away next week. You have nothing to lose really even if a state chucks a wobbly on the borders.
Now we just need the trigger happy premiers to calm down a bit too, get some confidence back.

Thanks for the heads up. Just booked this for my wife and I at Easter. I had been looking at a number of holiday options but held off as travel was so expensive. I'll take this over a $600 return trip on Jetstar to MCY!We just booked SYD <> DRW in business for $499 each way for Friday departure, Sunday return in mid May 2021. We had chosen 30 March 2021 as the start date for our SG challenge, so great timing with these sale fares for us!
Not an IQ test - what comes after MEL, ADL, SYD, BNE and PER?So expect a Covid outbreak in either DRW or PER in the few weeks leading up to my travel.
Where does it actually say that though on the site?I can confirm it is a broad change fee waiver. So you can re-route, change dates, etc. You can even exchange it for international (but you lose the GST already paid).

Well, its user interface still cough.Haven’t looked at the booking page for maybe a year....l
Do you meet the following conditions? So I booked a couple of trans-tasman flights to take advantage of the double status credits offer that has just ended. Went to change one of the flights online and the system wants to charge me a $125 change fee per person to move to a different date. This hardly seems in the spirit of the flexible 'fee-free' changes policy advertised with the offer.
Yes, I think so. Flight was booked this month for August this year. Want to change to a different day in August this year. It is QF operated.Do you meet the following conditions?
Enjoy unlimited fee-free changes to your date of travel when you book any Qantas operated trans-Tasman flight between 15 October 2020 and 31 July 2021, for travel between 16 October 2020 and 28 February 2022.
PER as PER-dicted?Just a general warning to everyone. I'm looking to book a trip to DRW in May. Based on my previous travel experience, whenever I book something, travel is not allowed. So expect a Covid outbreak in either DRW or PER in the few weeks leading up to my travel.
