I don't believe you have to be smart casual for the Deathstar flight....and congratulations on getting a seat in the dreadful BNE DOM QF J lounge it is usually a tricky exercise.

Are you implying it is dreadful due to the type of people that frequent the lounge?

No, dreadful because it is badly laid out, invariably crowded, and needs, what in the modern day known as, a refresh. (In the old days it would have been repainting, recarpeting and new furniture.)

Wore a t shirt into the lounge this morning *gasp*.

Now I'm comfortably settled into 1A.

My apologies to anybody who was traumatised by the sight of me in this disgraceful attire </sarcasm>

Haha hopefully you weren't stoned! ;)

My POV there are tshirts and then there are tshirts..... Well fitted clean cut tapered tees with no print can look very smart on the right person (with suitable bottoms et al). I wear tailored tees with dark jeans and a jacket often.

Then there are people's body type and those who seem oblivious to matching your body type to the clothes you wear. Overweight people with bulging stomachs have to work a lot harder to pull off a tee/polo shirt and shouldn't try to..... They should go for a more flattering cut shirt to cover their 'indulgences'! (Assuming of course they care about personal presentation).

I gym 3-4 times a week even when traveling and a fit and healthy body keeps me sane but also makes clothes look a lot better and smarter, even casual ones. Pretty sure it helps with upgrades / flight changes too ;) ;)

I think this thread is very interesting because everyone has very different views on what level of personal presentation they think is appropriate. Not everyone will agree, but I love having the conversation - and especially watching the generally more casual QLD crew v the Melbourne people!!

I'm most often disgusted at my own attire.

But then my vanity kicks in and reminds me to be disgusted at everyone else's attire.

Just on the letting kids run wild bit, I'm not going to chastise the parents of a child which has gone hypo provided that the parents are doing things to bring the situation under control..

No offense to Harvyk, but can I just say that it is "Hyper".
Hyper is more than, hypo less than. When I have patients coming in saying they/their kid went "Hypo" with drug X I get quite worried until I figure out what they actually mean.

A hypo child is the flying dream...

Public service announcement over, thanks.

I agree with you.

There is nothing special about the Business Lounge in Brisbane. It is just one big Qantas Lounge with a wall in between.

Shocking! I hope no children were exposed to this horrific scene, they could be left scarred for life!

Gosh, is my thread still going??
Thanks for your apology Ewing, but maybe next time you could go the whole yobbo hog and wear a singlet and shorts.
