Qantas Lounges will begin reopening from 1 November 2021

I'm looking at the SYD QF11 changes in 10 days from daily B789 to A380 departing 9:55pm Tu, Th, Sa & Su.

I note the HNL QF103 departs 7:20pm Mo, We, Fr & Sa. There is no mention of the Flounge opening for that flight (¥ Varies) so will HNL PAX be SOL?

Can anybody confirm if the showers at the SYD Flounge are operational?

There’s no lounge for them on the return flight so probably just lowering expectations :D

I'd think so, given that they were at the MEL F Lounge on Thursday... Let me know if you also find the towel thinner than before?
I haven't tried the QF showers recently but do recall using them a while back when MEL was in lockdown. My understanding is so long as you can find a fresh towel and the showers are unlocked you can use them!

I'll be sure to check that out when I travel out of SYD later this week (domestically) to ADL, supposing I can get my calliper recalibrated in time. Now would you like the thickness reported in millimetres or microns? 🤔

How hard would it be to display the operating status (open/closed/full/closing in 30 mins. etc) along with your eligibility, in real time on the QF app?
Dep Location: <MEL>
Flight <JL123>
Lounge(s) Biz <Open>, QP <Closed>, CL <Closed>
Valid fare class <no>
Valid FF/OW status <yes>
Guest entitlement <1>
<Pax good to go>
A couple of API's, a simple display on the phone app. Job done.

Of course all this assumes Qantas has its rules and data sorted out...

Some airports you need to walk for 15 minutes to find the lounge entry (looking at you LHR), only to be greeted by a piece of A4 paper saying "Closed", or be confronted by the lounge bouncers arguing that your OWE status or whatever doesn't apply, when everyone knows it should..
Often the check-in staff don't even know.

Instead of arguing/negotiating whilst frantically searching Google for the eligibility criteria, which may or may not be up to date... show the bouncer the app. If you are ineligible, at least you can ascertain why.

Yeah I've always found Qantas' website to be quite "static" in this regard. They really aren't using it to its full potential.

It would be nice if I could just scan my JQ BP at a lounge instead of having to read out my membership number to be let in. It would also be nice if QF decided to fold JQ into their existing digital properties (e.g. QF app/website) so I don't have to switch between apps depending on which flight I am taking. Lastly it would be nice if QF offered airside transit buses at airports where JQ and QF flights are segregated so I don't have to shuffle between terminals after I use the QF lounge (I'm looking at you SYD and MEL!)

Seems it will be OK - the SYD web page has been updated:

LocationAirside, Level 4, past immigration. Enter on level 3 via escalator
Opening hoursThis lounge opens daily from 4.30-11.00am and again from 12.45pm until the last scheduled Qantas flight departure.

Complimentary Lounge Invitations will not be accepted at this time.

Temporary measures have been put in place in the lounge including capacity restrictions, physical distancing requirements and changes to our food and beverage service offerings.

Saw a post on FlyerTalk - the LAX *O Business lounge has been closed until further notice due to "plumbing issues".

There's a further report on FlyerTalk the LAX *O Business lounge has reopened:

You do not have to show your vaccination certificate in any other lounge or restaurant within LAX. Very strange. The qantas First lounge will not re-open before March. The AA FL is not open. The lounges of all other major airline groups withinTBIT are open. The Amex centurion lounge is supposed to re-open this month.

Flying domestic business, can I access the lounge on arrival?

Before covid I know they used to let you, but not sure if they still do (been a while since I've flown Qantas). No status atm if that makes a difference.

I note reference to Showers being closed has been removed from the Qantas Travel Updates page.

Has anyone used one recently?
