Qantas MEL-HKG QF29/30 Delayed; A380 for SYD-HKG route

The amount of changes to QF29/30 is making me a bit weary - I wouldn't want to transit via Sydney or be on an aging A380 with the horrible 2-2-2 business class layout.

Fingers crossed that there are no (further) changes to my QF29 flight in October.

It's already been changed a few days ago from a 11am departure to now 1:45pm.

My upgrade from Y to J on QF127 on 26 April was confirmed at T-60. Unfortunately no more seats in the "First" cabin available. According to expertflyer.com 5A was still empty though. I called a couple of times but noone could help.
Called again at T-24 and got the seat. Turns out it is a seat with a cot that can only be selected by airport staff and apparently call center agents after T-24.

Flying this week to HKG on QF127 in J. Previously only limited seating in the upper deck was available for choosing however at T-80 the seating opened up. I had enquired with QF FB chat a month out and a couple of weeks before but the lower deck seating was airport controlled. Most of the lower deck 'first class' cabin had been booked at T-80 but managed to snag a 3K.

Hopefully good times ahead and glad to get a single seat as a solo traveller on this leg.

Well, my upcoming QF29 in November has just been cancelled and I need to fly via SYD - at least that's what's said in the email body.
But then I went to Managed Booking and guess what, it's still QF29, time has changed to 11:40am...no idea what's going on....typical Qantas?🤣

Thought it could be juggling schedule due to daylight saving but 1345 to 1140 starts Sun 29 October.
We don't particularly like a Sydney transit either @rbjhan on the upside more SC's?

Except that I'm not going via Sydney, at least according to the new ticket - It's still QF29. Afaik they just changed the time. I reckon someone is recycling email messages without checking.

I have two QFi booked flights for November varied over the past 36 hours - they must be firming schedules.
Booked our Sept flight QF30 in October last year, to depart HKG 1945 after arrival of QF 29 that was to depart MEL at 10.20 with HKG arrival 1800.
This changed several times in April with an explanation of "due to Qantas' ground handler issues in Hong Kong" @serfty and @rbjhan

Well haven't heard anything about my QF30...yet
We'll see how that goes!
