Qantas 'My Platinum News'

No WP Briefing for this Platinum. Maybe my mere 14 QF flights in the last 12 months don't cut it.
Well well!

I just received an email with the subject: "<serfty>, welcome to your first edition of My Platinum News".

It's got a $40 off for $199 Qantas wine spend ...

A whole $10 less than P1! :p

There's also a new My Gold newsletter (I kid you not!) with $30 off Qantas Wine, so that's $10 again less than Platinum.

Up next will be the My Silver newsletter with $20 off Qantas Wine, My Bronze newsletter with $10 off Qantas Wine... just as well there are no tiers below Bronze, or those people would have to pay $10 extra to order Qantas Wine.

I so agree. A decent range on non-alcoholic beverages would be very welcome on long flights and in the lounge.
and in their online marketing.

I keep getting cough about the Qantas Wine store, despite having all wine and alcohol related marketing/interest selections set to off in my profile.

Travel KM's and flights are going to look very sad this year for most of us....

It would be nice if Qantas stopped assuming that everyone wanted/drunk alcohol of any type.
It would be brilliant if I could specify which areas of QFF I desire marketing material for rather than a blanket yes/no.

I'm in a fortunate position of an employer-provided health care benefit I could never hope to afford on the open retail market (I'm not sure some of the benefits are even available on standard retail offerings) and will never consider picking up the Qantas Health offering, yet that seems to be the topic of most of the marketing I receive. I actually quite like looking at the wine offering as a change!! If only I could opt out of receiving specific products ...

Regards,

BD

You can opt out of Qantas Wine, Cash/Travel Money, and Hotels. But you can't opt out of specific "program partners" which I think is where Qantas Assure and Health Insurance fall.

Not that this has worked for me. I still routinely receive emails for those things that I have not ticked.

At this point I may just opt out of everything, since I'm tired of the insurance stuff. I didn't want to miss out on targeted DSC offers but since there's no flying now anyway, I guess that's moot. Announcing these programs once is fine, and maybe an occasional quarterly newsletter with a reminder. But the near-weekly spam about health insurance is just stupid - I get employer subsidized insurance so I have zero , zero, zero and more zero chance of ever switching to Qantas.
