True, but Alan needs to raise some money somehow and that's a $150 per pass that could be going into their own pocket :)

I guested two into ADL for a short while and after they left I went to guest another friend in and was pulled up by the lounge dragon suggesting that I should ask for an extra guest to be admitted. I had to inform her that my first two guests had already left. Only time I have been questioned about the number of guests.

I wonder how that sits with the spirit of the rules. I have no issue with you (or me, for that matter) doing it, but I would have thought once you 'used up' your 2 guest spots that would be it, regardless of whether they had left and you (or me) were looking to guest in two fresh ones. Taking that to an extreme, I could lob at 0900 for a 1700 flight and guest a dozen or so people into the lounge through the day. I guess it is all down to interpretation and the level of monitoring

I have always regarded it as two guests at any one time. This was one of the rare occasions I have done this. As soon as I explained that my two previous guests had left, there was no issue.

Interesting point.

If I turn up at 9:00am for a 5:00pm flight and have 2 guests with me and stay for an hour and then all leave. Then at 12:00pm I come back again with the same 2 guests and stay for an hour and leave and then come back at 4:00pm with the same guests.

Have I had 6 guests or 2 guests?

In the grand scheme of things does it really matter? I have not updated my Qantas flights this year but overall I will have 100+ flights for the year on all airlines and I have had <10 guests in total. Who cares if today I guest 4 into the lounge and for the next 29 flights I do not guest anyone? Maybe it is time to have a punch card with some sort of upper limit of guests for the year....

Perhaps back to a certain number of guest passes depending on membership level. And valid at OW lounges as well.
Say PS: 2;
SG: 8;
WP: 16;
P1/CL: unlimited?

I'm sure it will be a firey debate. ;)

If they wanted to curtail the black/ebay market they would be selling passes to their F Lounge.
No need to curtail that market, as that market will cease to exist at the end of the month...

Another card to carry (and lose) :rolleyes:
Punch card was just one idea. It can be stored on your FF profile and one can see when they log into their account how many guests they have used or have remaining.

QF won't do that because as I have said in previous posts they want to sell you something that you perceive as a benefit but in practice costs them very little. Most high Q Club users probably rarely bring guests as they are traveling on business or with companions who are also frequent travellers.

My comment was in regard to the possible problem of a WP/SG/QP member guesting multiple people in over the course of a lengthy stay in a QP.

If QF wish to sell passes to the QPs, then so be it. It just may encourage more complaints about overcrowding.

Sorry Jessica I obviously didn't get what you were referring to. I think there would be very few travellers who would be guesting multiple people in rotations so probably doesn't make much distance to overcrowding.
