I assume the answer is going to be yes in this instance but if you were flying from JFK to SYD with a connecting flight to BNE which has a 6.5hr wait time then these would be worth the money. At present I would try and get the 3 adults in and hope they don't ask for a pass for the 2.5yr old. I think 1 adult would be there the whole time and the other 2 adults and child will be going to the Museum and be back in time to spend at least 2 hours there. Would the lounge be a little quiet as it will be Easter Monday?

Again, the AA 30 day pass would be beneficial as you get all the benefits of a full AC membership for 30 days, the most important being: Up to two guests or immediate family (spouse, domestic partner and/or children under 18 years of age) may accompany the member

Kids three years or under are not counted as guests. Kids 4 - 17 you can have two in the lounge as guests if you are entitled to guests.

Thanks for the post Jock28 however to try and figure out what the lounge ladies would allow and not became too confusing (Washington DC to JFK we are flying AA so their lounge is ok). From there it gets a bit tricky - JFK on qantas from terminal 7 use the BA lounge for this pass it states - "The 30-day individual membership provides access to all Admirals Club lounges. At partner lounges, guest access is subject to the policies of each lounge partner", the BA website is foreign to me so haven't been able to locate if I can Guest or not or how many.

Then at LAX it is terminal 4 - "* Associated lounges are operated by, or on behalf of, other airlines in selected ports to which Qantas operates. Associated lounges may only be open to Qantas Club members two hours before Qantas departures. oneworld family policy access applies. Los Angeles (Terminal 4) – Admirals Club operated by American Airlines®". As this is AA I am assuming the 2 guest would work.

Then in Sydney - I am back to QF rules.......

It all got to confusing so I thought we could all suck it up and only look at the 6.5hr layover for lounge access - what they don't know they are missing does not hurt them

**however I still have 4mths before we fly so I might spend some time doing some research :-P

You are aware that if you have status, you can bring your +1 in, leave the lounge (with your +1 inside), then go back in with a new +1. Rinse and repeat until you've got everyone in.

Not that I'd condone such a thing.

I have seen this come unstuck as well. Somedays the lounge attendants may well be paying more attention than you think!

I tried this once. Didn't work and was sternly reprimanded by the staff at the front desk (MEL J).

Actually, I did it accidentally. My first guest was still inside due to a flight delay and I was attempting to re-enter the J lounge with 2 others.

OK, if I have to do all the homework for you.... Go https://www.aa.com/i18n/travelInformation/airportAmenities/AdmiralsLocations.jsp#thirty-day

You can see each airport that it is accepted.

I'll gladly accept a bottle of Bolly in gratitude!

From reading your post it seems that all 3 adults either have access or are within your guest allowance. Is that correct? If the only extra is the 2.5 year old, as already mentioned they don't count within the guest allowance according to Qantas rules. If my interpretation is correct I'm not sure why you need to pay for a 30 days pass.

I assumed that asking if it was 'worth the money' meant that the OP was planning to buy a QP pass, and does not have status nor COS access to the lounge.

Thanks - as I said I am happy to do the research I have 4 mths

Medhead - sorry for the confussion - no access for any of the guest - I don't fly often enough - I am just trying to make this easier on my mum who is coming with us

Thanks for posting this guys! I have membership but travelling in a group of 4 next year in Y. And while I told my partner he can wait in the concourse with my dad because theres no way I can get in without my mother coming with me, he didn't seem too keen on the idea. This is exactly what I need. Just a few extra passes to keep the peace, its a little expensive but not having to stress about who to get in and how for the next 6 months is worth it for me plus I can give it to them for christmas and then just add it into their repayments of the trip (I am paying for everything on a QFF Amex and everyone is paying me back - points woo!)

I am travelling Mel-HNL direct in February, and called the FF Centre to see that if I purchased these passes I could use at Melbourne Airport .....she called the lounge and they said yes so Iam a bit confused can it be used for the Melbourne lounge when departing JQ international?

I don't know if they will accept the passes, although, by the letter of the description on the website, they are only valid in the 23 domestic QPs across the country, as listed in Qantas Club Lounges | Qantas

Good to see that ceasing anytime access for Platinums has freed up enough space in the lounge to be able to sell access to the lounges.

I do not understand what Qantas is trying to achieve with this promotion. Further overcrowding and then remove access for Golds and eventually Platinums?

I guested two into ADL for a short while and after they left I went to guest another friend in and was pulled up by the lounge dragon suggesting that I should ask for an extra guest to be admitted. I had to inform her that my first two guests had already left. Only time I have been questioned about the number of guests.

If they wanted to curtail the black/ebay market they would be selling passes to their F Lounge.
