Currently in the CX lounge. Flying out on QF74 on the Friday night departure.
At Checkin the agent said for WP's its the CX lounge. At the door i had no issues. Was advised they dont make boarding calls and reminded of the boarding time.
It was 9pm when i got to the lounge.

Hey I was on the same QF74 Friday departure! SG on a J ticket and was turned down at the CX lounge at 9.15pm after she checked my name against a list (presumably the WPs and above). Spent a minute in the AF lounge before concluding it's much nicer out there in the general waiting area.

On an unrelated note, the check in guy at SFO said the latest I could arrive (with check in luggage) was 1hr 15mins before the flight - didn't realise we could cut it that close!

Interesting that you were turned away as a J pax. I was technically in Y+ when i was allowed in. I later was upgraded to J at the gate.

I cant be certain but i did see what i assume were other QF pax flowing in during the time i was there. I cant tell what status or cabin pax were in.
I did see a family who ended up in J in the lounge and i was certain they arrived much later then me.
I know it was just on 9pm when i entered as when they reminded me of the boarding time and that no announcement would be made i asked the time. The lounge wasnt thay full when i arrived but it did fill up quickly.

I cant say i saw a printed list. I did think they checked something when i got there as it wasnt a simple scan BP and welcome. There was a delay where i think they looked at a computer screen or something before scanning my BP and allowing me in. Is that your experience? Or did you see a printed list?

Yeah the CX lady cross-checked my BP against a printed list which had some names highlighted. I'd expected her to just turn me away just based on the OWS mention on the BP. To her credit, she appeared genuinely contrite and suggested I "try downstairs" instead.

Wow congrats on the gate op-up!
