I take your point but I am not sure that I would regard what they say on twitter as "official".

I know what you're getting at, but not really sure how else it can be taken. Their social media team is giving the same consistant (yet incorrect) advice that the OP of the other got via customer (don't) care. How else can one go about getting a more official response to the matter?

Exactly. And you are going to get precisely no where trying to argue with a Qantas lounge agent at the door of the lounge.
 
Qantas even have those oneworld rules on their own website.
