Qantas Original Routing Credit due to Involuntary Rerouting

Well, finally got around to calling the QFF team. It was not as easy a process as I had hoped.

Despite the rest of the itinerary being completed and DSCs for the other legs also being posted I send through a copy of the boarding pass (which we no longer have) or contact Air Canada and get a confirmation of boarding. They also want proof of the DSC status of the TravelPass (apparently the rest of the trip receiving the DSCs isn't good enough).

Helpful timing, just was involuntarily changed from SYD-MEL-PER to a direct flight, arriving 3 hours later, on a rewards J booking (points club member).

Where the different routing would have been less points and less taxes, should there be a refund at all? What about any additional compensation?

I can't imagine you're due any compensation in this case, especially if the direct flight didn't have award space to begin with.

It's the same number of points for a redemption (unless you've got an overnight in MEL) but I would still be claiming ORC as a Points Club member.

For anyone new to this concept, there's a guide to Original Routing Credits here:

Article says need to submit boarding pass, but QF has done away with these.

Im waiting DSC points from a Travel Pass to post (or 6 weeks) , whichever comes earlier to chase up ORC on for SYD-BNE-CNS-BNE-SYD which became SYD-CNS-SYD, not too fussed about the points just the SCs but dont have the boarding pass because they disappear from android app once flight lands.

The points and SCs for the lower earn flights have posted (just not the Travel Pass DSCs) so they know I flew.

Has anyone had success without the boarding pass on QF ticketed and operated flights?

I have PRCs owing on two separate PNRs.
  • Called re PNR #1to request at start of February, was told eligible and would post in 24hrs no joy.
  • Emailed in 2 separate claims for PMN#1 and PNR#2 to frequent file email address 3 weeks ago, no action
  • Called again yesterday, first agent useless, HUACA 2nd agent said yep within 24hrs for both PNR#1 and PNR#2
  • Still no ORC (nor the related DSCs)
This is holding back my platinum. Which menu options do people select when calling, any hints as to how else I can get these?

The flights were in January, I'm beyond frustrated; I was banking on the ORCs and their related DSCs, i don't have time to squeeze in more flights.

ALso turns me off booking any future status runs if QF wont honour the ORCs.

So correct base points and SCs are reflected in my account, however Jason says he cant credit the issing DSCs and has lodged a ticket to have my eligiblity checked and these handles over the next week ***eeek***

What this proves to me is that the last 2 agents I spoke to only pretended to check details and do submit/something, as Jason also in Manilla wass at least able to effect changes directly in my account; if only he could do the DSC amounts as well.

So the missing 40SCs which were the ORC DSC from my late Jan WLG trip finally credited today, still waiting on on 10 + 18 from CNS trip in late Dec and early Jan.

Hi all, advice needed if anyone knows this one.

I had a single QR ticket all business class which had:
- VCE-FRA (Lufthansa)
- FRA-DOH (QATAR)
- DOH-SIN (QATAR)

The Lufthansa flight was late and they (Lufthansa) rebooked me onto a Lufthansa flight FRA-SIN.

I was due to receive 160SCs (QANTAS) for the FRA-DOH-SIN flights.

Will I be able to claim ORC from QANTAS?

Check what class it booked into and whether you are better off crediting to SQ, UA or AC etc
