Odds on, if we ever meet, it will be outside of WA, and possibly overseas. I'll have to keep an eye on the lounge meeting threads.

Already bought my present from them over here in the US - some new clubs and golf shoes. :)
Again! Didn't you purchase golf clubs in the USA earlier this year?

Everything but wedges and shoes - picked them up this time around (good old "Richard's* Sporting Goods", I recommend them :)).

*Changed due to swear filter. :)

Coyote25 thanks for the form. I am due to be PG on Saturday, and wondered how I would get it. Now I can have the forms ready to go.

Cheers

I'd appreciate others' experiences with giving partner gold to someone other than your spouse or domestic partner. I'd like to give mine to my Mother which I know is against the rules, strictly speaking, of the offer. Has anyone had success in signing up someone else, either by declaring them as a spouse or by not declaring their relationship to you?

'Partner' means a Member's spouse or domestic partner who resides at the same address as the Member;

'Partner Gold' means the complimentary Gold Frequent Flyer status level awarded to the Partner of a Platinum Member;
It's up to you how you would do this.

Having a QFF account at the same address would be an initial pre-requisite I'd expect.

Confession time. Better get this out in the open before the Pope arrives.

I have both my parents registered for QF FF scheme at my home address. They are both UK resident. This goes back to a time when Australian residents received a better deal in the scheme than non Australian residents.

One year I did enough travelling to reach the magic milestone of partner gold. Since there was no established "mrs platy" I had no qualms about assigning the PG to my mother (ah what a good son!). Of course the name and address were consistent with a residing partner.

Remarkably this created much benefit since she often travelled solo to see friends around Europe on British Airways and upon flashing a gold coloured card (the BA top tier is Gold not Platinum) seemed often to secure complimentary upgrades to Club Europe ("business class").

Having done the flying on the rude roo I couldn't see why I should be penalised for not having a regular partner!!!

Now of course I have set up the ultimate battleground between Ma'am Platy and the future Mrs Platy - who is more worthy of the SG in future years! I have unleashed a lounge and upgrade monster in Ma'am Platy who has since become quite a demanding traveller...:shock:

I have yet to introduce the future Mrs Platy to the finer points of travel, but our visits to London's best dining restaurants and joyful consumption of champagne and strawberrries punting along the Cambridge Backs suggest she will transition effortlessly from thrifty economy traveller kipping in airport terminals to travel connoisseur and culture vulture...:shock::shock:

It occurs to me that by officially restricting the benefit of PG to a partner, the rude roo is really not necessarily giving much away and this may be quite intentional to limit the "rewards" provided - if you are people who usually travel together by definition the PG has limited benefit (excepting the bonus point earn) since your own WP card will do the trick for you.

I gave mine to my sister. She lives at my QF registered address and has the same last name.

She was not a member of QFF when she signed up but this came free with the shiny gold card.

I gave it to her for her backpacking trip around the world with (funnily enough) oneworld. She has never done long haul travel nor seen the inside of a QP. In fact she complained going to NZ in an exit row:shock:. Oh well, I'm sure she will get an op-up every flight...... That's always the way with little sisters.

Very well worded Platy ! :lol::lol:

Is partner gold like a level so would you only drop from partner gold to platinum rather than to gold if you had not enough SC's in a year ?

I have a feeling it defaulted to Silver (although I may be confusing that with another year my mother actually did enough flying for her own Gold card)
