Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Thanks mate. I actually had interpreted your comments above as to a 'situation" had happened that you couldn't talk about :)

yes, go SQ/VA makes perfect sense!

After re-reading my comment I can understand the interpretation. I Should have written something like 'Still a P1, no upgrades, no J wine when I am in Y, no invites and the seat block (shadow) that is on 4B is most likely being over ruled by lounge staff pandering to the wants of those SG or WP types.' but I have come to expect this ;):(

I'm exactly the same. 3rd year of P1 just re-qualified starting December.

I did manage to get 2x J classic seats released for my parents though. Would prefer if they made my life a little nicer the times I am in Y but I guess I understand why also they don't.

Like everyone says though, consistency would go do a treat. Hard to know why some do and some don't.

Was going through LAX recently and I got an email from the F host. Didn't see it until the next day.
Kinda odd (or inconsistent) because I've flown F as a P1 recently and did not ever get an email.
Also flown F as WP and same, no email.

Just got the P1 briefing email with a competition for the inaugural Dreamliner BNE-ORD in April 2020, J return and 5 nights at the Sofitel.
Email says P1s not targeted via email are ineligible.

This has got to be in the running for the blandest briefing yet. Virtually nothing but recycled news. Even the how far have you flown tracker is recycled from a previous briefing!
Totally agree. Took all of 30 seconds to read. Aside from the competition, what an absolutely usless comm.

I also scanned through the briefing did not take long, also a quick scan of the T's and C's and hit the enter button. Now I have to wait 3-4 months for the next thrilling instalment.

On another note, I did get a domestic upgrade the other day , I assume it was on the basis of P1 retention.

Probably the most half decent competition QFF have run. Although one in-room breakfast over a 5 night stay is petty penny pinching.

At least they no longer have competitions where the travel component was in economy!!

I took the time to watch the benefit-info video included in this Briefing. Extremely interesting, detailed, fresh and innovative, inspiring, and was absolutely full of all these benefits that I was completely unaware of. Not............

Hey come on, it's the Presidental suite! :p

yeah a half decent competition. I never win these things but would be fun :)

These briefings get worse. I was half hoping for one of those discount offers at least but nope. blah

Great competition!
I wondered who the P1s that did not get targeted were.
There must be a reason. Maybe the ones that won previous competitions?

Govt employees? Like the ones who get the "govt" gift and not the champagne?

Given how low the bar is to say it's the blandest ever is quite something.

But I agree. The comp is decent, and at least there is some flexibility in travel dates. But the rest is vacuous. The offers of discounts are so specific to items or locations that it's just pure marketing rubbish. Bring back the 10% across-the-board store discount instead.

I had assumed the time for the briefing had passed and was quietly thankful it had been killed. Really wish it had been.

Can't be bothered giving any feedback.

No email here. Mostly domestic Y travel - about 4K SC a year (helped with 3 or 4 intl J trips), but pretty low kms travelled.
