Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Anyone else apart from myself and @aus_flyer get offered 15K points ?
Just trying to work out what the P1 algorithm is.

Been on hold for 55min to the Platinum One team - anyone else with shorter wait times? Haven't received the points offer yet either.

Membership year ends in first half and 15K points here. P1 extension is the best bit by far. Despite the lacklustre benefits most times, better to be P1 than not.

So I guess the new round of P1 status extension means QF still have until January 2023 to find a way to take into account Points Club reward flights SC and QF rollover SC as part of the 2,700 QF SC P1 qualifying threshold.

I just flew MEL>DXB>LHR on a QF First Class ticket code shared onto EK flights. That’s worth 420 status credits but they aren’t yet showing on my account - that usually takes a few days. I need those SCs by tomorrow to pass the 3600 SC threshold to upgrade to P1. Will Qantas honour these SCs in the current year?

Yes, once they post they will be backdated into your points activity and therefore be included in your current membership year tally. You should be upgraded to P1 status without any manual intervention...

Just flew QF to SIN in Y. Probably first Intl Y flight in 7 years. No sign of CSS or CSM at all. Not offered anything. I know some people don't care about these interactions, but I find it's a very simple way to get status recognition, pass on some feedback and maybe get a drink before the meal service.

I get it.

I get it. Since things got back up and running in 2022 I’ve done 60+ flights on QF with about 20% being international to the US, Asia, Middle East (EK) and Trans Tasman.

The Pre-Pandemic levels of service for P1’s, etc have gone and may or may not come back. QF are working on the basis their Elite passengers are loyal and we are willing to pay a premium price for a reduced level of service on the hope and dream of pre-pandemic levels of service returning. The recent reworked Status Keeper program and $50 payment is QF’s attempt at allowing FF’s to keep that dream alive for a little longer. QF are also working on the basis their Elites have short memories with delays, cancellations, missed connections, missing bags, huge wait times with the call centre and a very pi$$ed off CSM ‘greeting’ you when you board your flight.

QF will continue to charge a premium price for a reduced level of service until we get some serious quality competition in the market and company CFO’s take a hard look at whether QF should maintain their preferred airline status.

When travelling on QF thru 2022 I’ve learned to set my expectations low and anything that is above is a bonus. Interesting I previously used AA, DL, UA as the bench mark for poor performance. Off the back of my last trip a few weeks back into the USA, QF has lowered their service levels below the US majors.

Bring on 2023..

FWIW my recent flights on EK with QF codeshare posted in 1 to 2 days.

but I find it's a very simple way to get status recognition,
Ooooh, I don't know what happened ... QF WP here.

From my experience in Mar-Apr & Jul-Aug - CSM came to the flight, welcomed me, offered champers from J and in one instance (as I previously documented) took me to the front of the J cabin so that I can exit the plane immediately and run to catch my next connection.

I had experiences like that when I was WP. Interestingly, I can't recall it ever happening since I've been P1. Hmmm.

I sometimes wonder how P1 are shown on the CSM iPad. Maybe it's not obvious.
I'll ask next time I actually can see a CSM! :p

As you board (737), sometimes they have the passenger numbers screen open on the iPad in an alcove on the right as you walk through the door.

It's got numbers of:
VIP/CIP (I think?)
P1
CL
WP
SG
etc

On busy business routes it's not uncommon to have 4-5 P1, 2-3 CL, 15-20 WP...

I have seen the iPad on QF81, WP is the outline of a person sitting on a chair in blackish grey color ...

I have also seen bright green color silhouettes, my hunch is that’d be the P1’s … bright green, so that the crew don’t miss it ?

Perhaps when there's only one WP on board, they make an effort, as a treat, but don't bother with P1's because it's assumed they are get special treatment all the time?
