This is not intended as some kind of brag or something. Frankly I am absolutely gobsmacked. In fact, when the email came in a few hours ago I didn't believe it (despite the addresses all looking correct and in the usual format etc). I called up VIP to confirm it was so, and eventually got a confirmation that it was:

I received a P1 invite to Taylor Swift at the MCG in the QF Corporate Box.

We all know there's such huge demand for this, and so many scams out there about tickets (I mentioned this to a friend, and she told me SHE had been victim of one!) so I was dubious but well.... seemingly legit.

I can't imagine the sums something like that would be worth, or could be charged for it, but what an amazing invite from P1? Do I deserve it? in the terms of P1's out there, probably not, but it's amazing nonetheless.

She's not really my cup of chai, but what an experience such a show would be? And if not, there's always the bar.... :D

Well done! Very much unexpected for QF to even have these; let alone to hand any out! Personally, I’d politely decline and wait for the Foo Fighters or Metallica equivalent 🤪

Cheers,
Matt

Perhaps part of the Charm Initiative currently underway.

I understand some invites to Pink in SYD have also gone out.

I am grateful to get the invite. While I don't know how many actually have been sent it (the old "first come first served" caveat in the email) it's really nice and I certainly recognise the value of such an offer (and no doubt all the [ insert massie generalisation of a certain demographic ] members of AFF reading are screaming about it too).

The offer really has no value if you are not interested in it. It really suggests QF didn't know it's customer or it would have offered something you valued.

I see your point, but I have in my profile Music is an interest (or something like that) so why not offer? They can't know my specific sort of music choices, and even if I put in something more specific, it doesn't mean I wouldn't appeciate something mainstream like this. Plus, it's a fair bet that something like Swift even if the member isn't totally into it, would know someone/have family etc who is.

And of course, one does not have to accept the invite, and others can get the opportunity - they would have zero trouble finding takers.

Aside from that, I guess by value I meant imagine how much people would pay for this is one was able to offer it for sale - for those that really would want such a thing.

**** I am NOT saying anyone receiving this particular offer even attempt to do this. It's unethical and the member needs to attend, and unsure what ID verification would be done, but probably pretty strict given the demand. Not like footy games when they say "Hey, you're mr MEL? Welcome in, grab a beer.." lol. Just trying to illustrate the HUGE and INSANE demand for an event like this.

Is there a +1? (asking for what seems like most others than me in the free world)

What an invite to get, nice one! I thought QF might have some tickets, sadly nothing at all here - the only invite I received ages ago I couldn’t take up.

This is excellent advice for the P1s out there. All invites are on a first accept basis so really keep an eye on your inbox for these
Yes, they do make this clear in the email

...please register your interest by selecting the 'Yes, I'd like to attend' button below:

Places are strictly limited and will be allocated in order of acceptance. We apologise in advance if the allocation is exhausted at the time of your acceptance.

But then, as is usual for QF, the "Confirmation" I got is unclear imo.

The subject says "Confirmation of Registration"

.. so is that confirming my "interest in attending" ?

But the email text says "Thank you for your acceptance. Ticketing details will be sent via email approximately 24-48 hours prior to the concert."

THAT implies that yes, I am going.

The enail was an auto.reply after I submitted.

So which is it?

I have not had any follow up since saying no, the allocation was exhausted when you registered.. so I assume yeah, I'm going (yay!)

Just frustrating that there is still a small degree of doubt in my mind.

To be clear, entirely first world and all that. Any invite is fantastic and a wonderful surprise and I am grateful. If I miss oit, then I miss out. Woukd just like to know lol

From my understanding thank you for acceptance is your key! I got this to the Thursday dinner in Sydney where for an another event last year I got placed on the waiting list and got a call up closer to the event as I took too long to accept.
