Qantas Platinum One experiences?

It does make me wonder as an extension if there is ANY correlation to subscriptions and offers? Seems a crazy thing, but I wonder.

Back in the day P1 SST had mentioned having the 3 interests selected in the QFF profile as a way to help filter potential selections, so that is definitely something to check out, but wonder if tgere is anything else for those not getting any love.

Well! A very friendly start to QF96 tonight. Boarding super fast, Nice spot of bubbles, good chat with the CSM about recent trips, everyone looks cheerful, bit of banter, menu looks good! I have high hopes this could be a good flight!

Waited half an hour on the phone to get an Auckland call centre agent who performed like a "teapot made of chocolate".
Didn't listen to what I said, got cities, travel class and dates wrong. This was an award seat release request.
Apparently my details weren't authenticated despite me putting the correct numbers in.
Has any other P1 received a negative service like this recently?
As the saying goes, you (a company) are as good as your weakest member.

Fortunately had the exact opposite a couple of weeks ago. Called just after 7am and was answered immediately by the VIP team. Not a complex request but still pleased it took only 3 or 4 minutes and I was confident she had all my details and I'd get the outcome. One minor thing to follow-up on but otherwise was a good service.

I do as much as I can online so don't call that often - and haven't done major flying in recent months anyway - but will increase in coming months again.

Not sure if I want to classify this as P1 related but a great lounge agent in CBR just now (and you can bet if any station sees regular entitlement its here..).

Waltzed up to J lounge with my 21A BP (all Y 717) and entered with a warm welcome.bi was looking for a seat when he comes up to me with a BP saying "I moved you more forward is that OK?" I was quite surprised so I asked oh where? "5A". I actually told him thank you so much, but I actually picked the back(maybe my last 717 flight) so would prefer to stay there if OK? He seemed quite bemused that I would want to sit back tgere but said he'd move me back.

I truly appreciate the proactive gesture nonetheless. So P1 related? Maybe but more an observant and thoughtful agent I think.

I can see some may be annoyed if moved, but he asked to confirm so I had no problem.

My daughter and I attended the Tay Tay concert at Accor Stadium on Friday night.
Tickets emailed by the VIP team earlier in the week.
Event was hosted by 3 QF staff members. All lovely and chatting with the guests prior to the start.
There was a bar and food (hot and cold canapés) all evening.
Excellent unobstructed view of the concert.

A bit of a faux pas at the beginning though. Arrived at the Stadium and queue to get in our gate was about 200 people deep for security.
My daughter walks confidently up to the head of it saying “Cmon mum we won’t be waiting in that TKWIA etc” and pulls me along with her.
Unfortunately that was incorrect 😱
But due to our sheer ignorance or outfits or whatever the security guard let us through instead of the walk of shame 😆

Daughters numbers two and three still salty they missed out.
Must get them flying more !!

And to me this doesn't seem right. The most I've done in a year is 4k SC. This year I got over the line at under 3700 yet got incredibl Tay Tay. I am grateful for of course, but there does sem no rhyme or reason, and tbh you'd think someone giving QF the kind of revenue to basically qualify twice should be shown some love - let alone the more general notion of spreading the love as fairly as possible across the membership.
@RichardMEL well done!! No invites apart from the odd note, bubbly, some flights released. Others like EK/QR have upgraded but never QF. Go figure. Calling "the number" only because the website cannot do basic stuff or keeps falling over. I am amazed at how nice some crew are given treatment, the differing conditions they work under etc. QF have interesting negotiation styles with pilots too. Makes me wonder if only the shareholders concern of QF, not staff, passengers. Seems so shortsighted. Moving more flights to other airlines as its getting too harder to deal with QF.

Not P1 related, but a first world problem :) whats the go with the decanter in SYD these days. Another cost cutting exercise by the bean counters? PErhaps they should claw back some of the 25m :-(

It's generally still been there. In my view, the wine they're putting in it doesn't justify decanting. Refer to F-Lounge thread for some examples of ~$20 bottles of wine in the decanter

Sounds excellent to me. P1 - observed; also observed seat at the back, not generally preferred. Found seat towards front, offered.

I just hope he didn't bump a <P1 from 5A! And if he did, they got 5A back again. :)

BA have just announced that their P1 equivalent, Gold Guest List, is to become its own tier, not a subset of Gold (OWE). I wonder if that would help P1s have recognition when flying BA?

That’s huge - hopefully it pushes Qantas to think about upgrade certificates and differentiated lounge access 🤞
