Qantas Platinum One experiences?

The end of P1 coincided with my retirement from full time work. I've also missed the 3,000 or more SCs each year - if I'd kept going, I'd be that much closer to LTP. But the recent DSC promotions have been helping with that and for me LTP is now sort of realistically achievable.
Wow, LTP. That would be an achievement. How many lifetime SCs do you have now?

And with that, I hang up my white bag tag and hand back the white card. After 5 years as a P1, will I miss it? Slightly - mainly for the following reasons (in no particular order):
  • Partner platinum
  • Seat selection
  • VIP service team
  • Christmas gift
  • The DYKWIA factor
  • (Very) Occasional surprise and delight actions (op-up, CL invite, event invite)
Do I think that all the effort to reach / maintain P1 for the above benefits is worth it - absolutely not. I still get the key benefits I find most valuable from vanilla WP (lounge access and additional baggage) and can't say any of my recent (last 18-24 months) onboard experience has been any better being a P1.

So until next time....
When I handed in my white card resignation I was along the same lines. The additional thing that I miss was the ability for QF to release J rewards seats available as this was great value in our situation. We mainly travelled as a family unit of 3 and for 10 years it always seemed very easy to get 2 seats released for the start and end of school holidays and on the odd occasion 3. Also on seat release although rules are D&I only there was at least 1 (maybe 2) occasions that I had a seat released for myself only when there was only J available, IIRC @Princess Fiona may have experienced similar.
