Qantas Points Club Discussion

Does points club + give you access to priority boarding lines when booked in Y?

No. Points Club Plus members get a fully fledged Qantas Club membership)
One more question… what is the duration of the QC membership? The rest of the membership year? One calendar year from qualifying? The remainder of the membership year plus all of the next one?

Thanks. I actually meant priority lines at check in. I had previously read the benefits a number of times but was unsure what this meant.

Check-in

As a Qantas Club member, access a range of domestic check-in options regardless of your class of travel. Check-in your way using the Qantas App or online.

We are heading off to Singapore in Y tomorrow SYD-MEL then MEL-SIN and with reports of the current numbers I was looking for a potential shortcut.

Yes, Qantas Club members can generally check in with business class / silver members.

Has anyone had any problems with the lounge invitation benefit? This is my second year in a row being a points club member, and I've never had any lounge invitations.

I've sent qantas 2 emails about this in the last several weeks to no avail, tossing up if it's worthwhile spending a few hours in the phone queue about.

I had this issue last year, but an email to [email protected] fixed it for me (took a few weeks though). I know this isn't super helpful information given you seem to have already tried that.

All good - I actually used the contact form on the qantas website (I assume it emails), so maybe this will be better!

@encryptededdy I've deliberately not quoted your post so you can edit it out, but this has been discussed in previous pages of the thread and is a known benefit.

No problem, p13.
Ah thanks. I'm trying to request ORC for a few sectors (due to the Qantas mass cancellations from a while ago forcing me to go direct). I won't mention anything to them, but I wonder if they will;

1. Offer ORC at all for award flight sectors
2. Apply SC as per the table or otherwise.

They should definitely honour ORC on award flights and even DSC if the booking was eligible.

You will probably end up earning SC at the same rate as if you had flown, I suspect the QFF team does not manually calculate SC but instead enters date/flight number/booking class and the rest happens automatically.

What about the latest bonus offer for buying points? Do you think that counts towards points club? I couldn't see anything in the T&Cs.... But I'm not always good with reading fine print.

I don't think it would be good value to buy points just to retain points club status, but it would be handy in the event that a little topup is needed....

I noticed these two entries on my QFF statement balance. I'm not entirely sure what I did to earn them - any ideas? I haven't done any Qantas hotels in recent times.
