Qantas Points Club Discussion

The example in the previous post relates to to status support, not points club plus so its simply not relevant to the discussion. Different terms and conditions.

Points club plus talks about status credits. I disagree that the words are vague. Any status credits in your account work for the words in the qantas statement of terms and conditions for points club plus. Whatever we might think, the words are all that should matter in the terms and conditions. If qantas wants not to roll over status credits perpetually then they can change the terms and conditions. They haven't done that and it is hardly qantas customers roll to make allowances for Qantas' possible loose wording. On the other hand Qantas has all the power and they cannot be practically called to account if their behaviour is at odds with published terms and conditions.

What I cannot understand is why people try so hard justify the indefensible.
Yea I searched everywhere in the t&cs, I couldnt find a passage that would prevent previous PC+ SC rolled over to rollover a second time with PC+. I think there is a point to make, until Qantas fixes the t&cs.

I cant remember anyone discussing that, probably because those interested in this perk naturally accrue more than 100SC a year anyway, or because we are influenced by the t&cs of the status-extension-with-rollover offers.

I think that to avoid confusion, this specific discussion should ignore status support, status booster, status extension-with-rollover, aka pretend covid never happened.

I still do not understated how the term 'earned' comes into the discussion of points club plus. There are status credits in your account and, for points club plus, there is no discussion of their origin.

No? those are the T&C's from the bottom of the Points Club page.

Somewhat bemused.

Platinum rolled over 1/3/22. Yay.

Promised 500 SC as per Qantas web site and only received 40SC on 1/3/22. Expected another 40SC on 1/4/22 as possible drip feed, but no.
Booked the eligible flight to roll over.

Are others missing their promised extra SC points?

How many SC did you earn last year that were eligible according to the table?

Everyone here is generally on your side, just trying to share what we understand to be the case/rules etc.

For the record, the year before, when I was PC+, 60SC rolled over on the 1st day of the following membership year. I did not re-earn PC+ so can't comment on PC+ rollover or re-rollover. In fact, due to the timing of PC, we may be starting to see these issues for the first time. I do hope that we can get clarity, soon.

33kft, can you please post a link to the page you got the status credit rollover example from. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/points-club.html contains tons of fine print but doesn't contain have the content you quoted. Thanks in advance

I would also like to extend my best wishes to all those engaging in the discussion.

I think our problem in wrapping our minds around the plethora of sub programs and fine print in QFF is it has got too complicated. I refer to Matt's excellent interview on AFF ON AIR with Phil Hawkins, formally COO at flybuys. One of Phil's axioms is to keep programs simple and comprehensible to customers and avoid doing things that alienate segments of your customer base. Perhaps Qantas should tempt Phil out of retirement.

It's from that page. If you use Chrome or Edge the following link should highlight the passage:

The ^ preceding this statement is the ^ which identifies the T&Cs belonging to the status rollover benefit:

Isn’t it a case of “maximum 500SC” but only 40% of what you earned (doesn’t include DSC portion IIRC, nor support SC)? Points Club rollover is up to 100SC.

Of course I am being cyncial but you are making the assumption that Qantas actually wants us to fully understand all the earnings rules. After all Qantas don't seem to fully understand them either. AFF is at the margins in that we all want to get 110% of what we think we are entitled to. Most QF members will collect points / scs at rates much inferior to members here and will probably not realise that points / scs have potentially gone astray.

I've interpreted this slightly differently on the status extend page (appreciating this probably belongs in a different thread):

Status Credit Rollover - members with a status end date between July - December 2022 NEW

Can my current Status Credits be rolled over to my next Membership Year?
Yes. If you’re eligible, Qantas will rollover eligible Status Credits earned in the Membership Year ending between 31 July 2022 and 31 December 2022 up to a cap of at least 40% of the Status Credits required to retain your tier. This rollover will apply for Membership Years starting between 1August 2022 and 1 January 2023.
The maximum number of Status Credits that can be rolled over are as follows:
Platinum OnePlatinumGoldSilver
Status Credits1,800500250100

So not 40% of what you earn - everything you earn up to a maximum of around 40% of the credits required to retain.

This specifically (and backed up by the table explaining eligibility) says "earned in the membership year ending X". Whereas, so far, we've only seen for points club a reference to up to 100SC being rolled over into the next membership year, and no table that specifically excludes the status support credits for PC+ rollover.

Thanks and apologies to 33kft. When I referred to the example in the previous post, it was post 554 by HappyFlyerFamily which gave examples showing which status credits can be rolled over through status support. A few posts snuck in while was drafting. I will try to be more precise in future. Better still I will try to master quoting in this forum.

It seems I have been interpreting differently all this time. Makes sense now.

Do SCs earned on Classic Awards count towards loyalty bonus?

Hi there - just clarifying - if I earn Qantas club membership from points club, is it the same as a fully paid QC membership? All the same benefits and conditions? Does that include being able to access Emirates lounge in Dubai?
Thanks

Yes, it is Qantas Club membership. As such, you will be able to access the Emirates lounge in Dubai and partner lounges elsewhere in the world.

Are points club points supposed to post simultaneously with Qantas points?

If so, I’m wondering if anyone has bee short changed recently

Since my 1 April reset I have earned 875 points:

But only 45 have counted to PCP retention:

Those are all eligible on-ground earning categories aren’t they?

If it’s just me, I’ll chase them up. But if other have the same issue I’ll give it a few days to see if it sorts itself out.

The issue is that most of those points have a credit date of pre April, even though the post date is 1 April or later. It works the same way as SC - it doesn't matter when they actually arrive in your account, they will backdate.

Give it a few hours and the 10 points from BP Rewards which posted this morning should add to the counter, but the remainder of the points shown in the screenshot will have counted to last year's tally.

Looks like the 10 points have already been added to the 35 from Friday giving a correct total of 45 points?
