Qantas Points Club Discussion

My 30k has landed, does not appear to have affected my Points Club balance, tho, just found a $100 hotel voucher at top of page. Guess that's a winner.

What’s your “Earned in the air” balance? A max of 20k counts towards PC.

brb looks like about 27,414 from flying - I did 3 x Syd/mel/akl status runs in J from 1 July - start of my year.

If you already have 20k earned “In the air” for your current year then no.

I’d ticked over at the start of Aug but haven’t flown QF yet so 20k of my 30k counted towards PC. But future flights I have booked now won’t count.
This will be my scenario… will claim the points today sometime

They’re crediting as “Flight miles” (shown as “Earned in the air” for PC). So a max of 20k or less if you’ve done some flying.
This is bad .... I was counting this 30K to add to my points on the ground tally so that I can get 30k closer to PC+ :( ... already unlocked PC a few months back ... Expecting a 70k to come from ANZ CC soon, so I guess I will be fine ...

I was hoping to spare my liver 3 cases of wine. I guess now it will have to take one for the team… 😀

With the lost baggage claim I got 10k points but that was under the flight component of Points Club, so basically a few k more and I max out my allocation for that part. Not to worry I'm on track to hit PC+ again.

I'd love to partake in the noble action of sparing your liver any damage. You are welcome to send the wine cases to my address ;) Just one case would be fine, you can keep two.. ;)

Actually, I’ll probably need all 3x cases to cover the points flying I was going to earn anyway…

Can someone confirm that it is the activity date and not the posting date that matters? I've just ticked over into a new membership year on 1 Sep and had an activity that took place on 4 Jun that posted on 2 Sep, which hasn't appeared in my Points Club points balance. Is this correct?

Yep it's the activity date:
In calculating whether a Member has qualified for the Points Club Program in a Membership Year, Qantas will count Qantas Points from the applicable Accrual Date. Some Qantas Points can take up to 90 days to appear on your Qantas Frequent Flyer Activity Statement.

Hi, I just re-qualified for points club during my birthday month.
I note that in order to receive an email about your wine voucher, you need to have a certain box ticked in the email preferences. I have that box ticked now, but I am not sure if I ticked it before or after I re-qualified for PC.

Does anyone know how quickly the wine voucher will get credited and email generated? Or do I need to wait until my birthday month next year? The website says to look in"my account" section to find the voucher, but I can't readily see where it might be stored (if they grant it to me this year).

Thanks!
My last one arrived 12 days after my birthday. So if you were already PC and have since reqal’d it shouldn’t be far off?

My PC dashboard doesn’t show my Wine voucher. Some of us never got the website upgrade!
I think give it a fortnight, then email qantas to ask for them to manually give you the voucher codes.
Just been doing a forum search to work out the timing of this myself.

Last year I used both vouchers, and just like status I assumed that as I am currently PC+ I would be entitled to two more vouchers this year (my birthday is this month) yet nothing has shown up. I did have a hotel voucher previously showing in the usual spot, and did use it so it no longer shows, but no wine vouchers yet. I also have the correct emails turned on.

I'm well on my way to re-qualifying PC+, but have so far only got to 300k points, so at the very least I would expect a single $50 voucher if they're going to be stingy.

Has anyone with a September birthday received their vouchers yet and/or recent experiences from say, an August or July birthday on the timing of receiving the vouchers?

I am PC+ and have an August birthday and received my two wine vouchers in later July. That is, at least a month before my actual birth date. I used them immediately rather than forget!

What I don't like about the hotel vouchers is that they stay in place once used and don't disappear. Can be confusing.

I'm at 290K points for this year, so PC. Have got the remaining 60K to go for PC+ and that remaining 60K feels like it's the hardest ... I was hoping that the 30k from QF would count, but it didn't ... have got 60k coming from ANZ Black, but it takes foreverrrrr !!!

ANZ is like, we will post it in the 2nd month bill cycle, but I crossed the spending threshold in 2 days! Come on .... be quick ..

Credit cards that award ff points directly (as distinct from giving points in their own rewards schemes which customers then redeem) will always issue points in monthly blocks after the monthly statements are issued.

I don’t have the problem. They still don’t show in my dashboard at all…😔

It does seem odd that the hotel voucher arrives within days of anniversary tick over but you have to wait for the wine voucher. It’s a nice gesture that it’s a birthday thing but too bad if your birthday month is towards the end of your membership year…
