Qantas Points Club Discussion

Search your inbox for the voucher code - if you've already used it, it'll show up on the tax invoice emailed to you.

Annoyingly, used vouchers don't automatically disappear from the Points Club page.

Edit: I've been caught out on this twice...
Thanks for this. I have not used any vouchers (wine/hotels) that I have received so far ... I forgot that I had the vouchers until last week when I was looking at my profile. Talking to QF now, will update on the outcome soon.

I received a survey a few weeks ago in relation to PC+. I provided them with some feedback. The program is off little value considering the 350,000 target.
I said it would be great to have the ability to transfer the Qantas Club to family
The only thing I value in PC+ are the status credits on reward flights everything else is of little value to me

The 100SC rollover is the biggest differentiating factor between PC & PC+, and makes it well worth aiming for the 350K over the 150K threshold in my opinion.

Deep down inside do wish we could get guaranteed SCs for reward flights with oneworld partner airlines at say a 30% rate of the class as a PC+ member but indeed that would open up a whole can of worms and enhancements lol. Plus it takes a bit more programming. Oh well...

Update: spoke to an agent in MNL, who looked into the issue and told me that the voucher code has been used last year. I have no recollection of using it. I had to make a few phone calls and later realised that I gave the code to my colleague to do their hotel booking.

@sudoer - thanks for your tip. I asked my colleague to check their email and as you rightly pointed out, the code was there. Thank you

Increased points earn on upgrade seats, at least in line with rewards seat earn on points club.

E.g. SYD-LAX economy saver fare 60sc
Upgrade to business, get the 72sc

SYD-LAX economy saver fare 60sc

Just compared dates in September on this:
Upgrade: $1344 (Y saver) + 98,100 points
Upgrade: $2,091 (Y flex) + 54,000 points
Classic Reward: $258 + 108,400 points

Upgrades look to be a terrible option when sc earn is important, from Saver, spending an extra $1,086 for 10,300 points value, and missing out on the extra status credits had you booked a classic reward seat.

From flex is not much better, though you get 90sc from that flight. Different flexibility and availability across these options i know, but enhancement for pc/pc+ on upgrades would be good, dare I suggest business saver earn (190sc)?

Yes, agree and would take any enhancement as a bonus. I rarely request upgrades but it would encourage me to do so; imagine PC members with no status would have little chance of success with current flight loads though.

Am actually on target for PC+ for the first time this year, with increased business spend and tweaking the ATO payments via 3rd party players. Effectively reducing the requal for WP to 1100 will def be the greatest benefit. Would be even better if that complimentary QP membership were transferable to a fam member...

Go for Green Tier and reduce the WP requal to 1050.

After an early sprint and knocking over PC requal early in my member year, I’m still 80k short of achieving PC+ for the first time and only 2 1/2 mths to go. That 2nd 200k earn is tough without card churning or big CC spend!

Absolutely. Need to do the same myself. Very open to DMs if anyone has a good method!

Wonder whether this would be worth its own thread topic…? Something akin to the best status run thread.

Can the same 100 status credits be rolled over indefinitely if one re- qualifies every year for PC plus , or is it rolled over only once ?

It’s up to 100 status credits earned in the prior membership year, but yes, as long as you have earned them, they will roll over as a PC+ member.

I sort of posed a similar question a few weeks ago. Most of the good PC “status runs” (aka points earners) tend to have their own threads (QF health, Optus promos, etc).
I’m not aware of one but is there a general QF thread for current bonus points earn offers? Or anyone know a good website that collates offers?

I‘m going to be relatively close to getting to PC+ for the first time with still 5 mths to run. I’m not into CC churning but I do get the occasional AMEX offer to upgrade my existing CC - which I’ll probably do. I figure I could be 6 or so decent QF Wine bonus points offer on top of regular monthly earn but some cheaper options (like the Optus promo) could actually be worth while.
I started answering my own question here….
Yep, the various QF Insurance ones (Health and Car) are generous and have their own threads.
I’m reluctant to switch since I’m on Grandfathered plans for each and will cost more in the long run.

The Red Energy offers come around every other week - 15k plus ongoing pts per spend.
Haven’t really compared that.

Superhero upto 36,000 pts is doable - just need to check the fine print:

I just noticed that LJ Hooker also gives pts for leasing property. We have an apartment already managed by them. I must remember to trigger this offer if we issue a new lease agreement!

I was pointed to the various Woollies gift card promos (EDR -> QFF). Not something I’ve done in the past (but a hobby for others) but at least the money spent is still going on something you’ll ultimately need anyway.

I take your point. Guess I’m considering the ideas/mechanisms people have that aren’t really involving changing your health fund or telco etc (as no everyone will be in a position to do so). But maybe it’s redundant…

Certainly buying the promotional gift cards at Woolworths and converting via the everyday rewards program as already mentioned is also a good option to add to the points pile. I'm undertaking a bit of an experiment this year on it to see if I can get PC for my school aged son. Will require some well thought out purchases, as I don't want to end up with a bunch of gift cards I can't use.

I wish Qantas would introduce more/higher Points Club tiers. There has been speculation about this before (including Qantas putting the feelers out).

I suspect the credit card companies would object. There’s a very fine balance to be struck between QF marketing their points to banks as an incentive to recruit loyal customers, and QF encouraging churning. IMO the PC+ already sits on the wrong side of that balance (ie I don’t believe it is reasonably attainable without churning) and higher levels would make it obvious that QF were encouraging gaming of the system - plus would be of interest to very few customers.

True in some, perhaps many, cases but I earn a large number of points without card churning and I’m sure others do as well
