Qantas Points Club Discussion

Not a huge discrepancy but right now my ground points activity as shown in my activity summary is approx. 2k higher than that recorded in my points club progress; and before anyone asks no its not due to exceeding 20k in points from flying as those points match exactly.

I am trying to work out if any other points earn is excluded? Or if there is a lag in some activity form 30th Nov and 1st Dec lagging in the Point Club tracker?
Are you using the total from earn “This member year” filter?

There’s a bug in the QF IT for some of us where member year is starting mid month rather than the 1st of the following month.

Eg my member year starts 01 Aug but online it’s counting activity from 12 July… 🤷‍♂️. So a bunch of RP surveys from last year are in this years tally.. You need to manually subtract those.

Yes Im aware of that bug.

But I exported the transactions and correctly started from start of month, and also removed any negative award redemptions.

Best I can tell 15 points from a Red Planet Survey credited 30th Nov and all transactions so far today seem to be what is missing.

Maybe its just a lag

Last month I noticed a lag of up to a few days between 'ground' points showing on my Qantas FF activity before being included in the PC 'on the ground' total.

It all caught up eventually.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned before but it looks like the PC dashboard is now automatically removing used vouchers rather than relying on the “X” to hide used vouchers (and the obvious risk of hiding an unused voucher!).

My dashboard shows this (after using my wine voucher earlier in the week).

The wine voucher is gone. When I used it, I actually went looking for the “X” to hide it but not there. I don’t recall seeing the blue banner when I used the voucher.

Apologies if this has already been noted here, but it looks like Qantas has added a new benefit for Points Club members:

The priority phone service doesn't apply when calling reservations, only the Frequent Flyer Service Centre.
Not new, but only applies if you need the FF guys for something. EG when I needed to call about missing points claim, I'd be connected almost immediately. Still had to HUACA a few times to get my claims processed.

However no priority reservations or HBA. Not sure if PCP ranks ahead of PC or how they compare to normal status in priority either as I haven't had to chase up FF related things since hitting SG (soon WP).

@kokoikaka Hotel bookings for me always come in exactly 1 month after the stay.
The last 2 bookings that I have had to chase came in like this:

booking 24 Aug - CKS Sydney airport
normal points in acct 24 Sept
bonus points 27 October - after about 3 emails.

booking 26 Aug - Rydges Auckland
normal points in acct 26 Sept
bonus points 7 November - after chasing.
I am new to Points Club @Bindibuys and have a few Q hotel bookings for 2024.

I assumed the bonus points would be allocated at the same time, on the basis that it states your points earn is .... points (silly me?!)
Will certainly keep an eye out now, thank you.

@Flyfrequently - what you REALLY have to look for is when you are making the booking, the system will show your “total” points, but when you complete your booking and print out the first page (the one I pack) you MAY find it only shows the basis points.
This is when you know you are going to have to chase your extra points after the basis points have hit your account.
This seems more prevalent when Q have 6 or 9 point bonus sales. (There is a 6 point on now)
You will get that sale basis, but not your PC or PC+ bonus 25/50%.
I take screen shots during the booking process.
If my printed out receipt show a total of ALL my points, then I should be fine, but I have had so many that print out wrong, that I now take this precaution.
The printed total is what QF will send to your account.

re: points transfer from business rewards - I know that up to 20,000 points from business rewards will qualify for PC. However, if another QFF member transfers over their points, is there a limit on how many points will be considered for PC qualification?
Are you referring to another member transferring their "normal" points or transferring business rewards points?

I am PC, my year finishes 31 Jan 2024.
When I look at my activity it doesn't list any points from flights that I have done this year.
Should that be automatic? Or do I need to chase them and how do I do this?
Do you earn any PC points for reward flights? or just the status credits?

Just status credits.

Zero. “Family” transfers (from one QFF account to another) don’t count towards PC.

Correct; however transfers from anyone's Business Rewards account are supposed to count for points club until the limit of 20,000 is reached.

From the app:
You can now transfer up to 20,000 Qantas Points from any Qantas Business Rewards account into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account and have it count towards achieving Points Club or Points Club Plus.

I say "supposed" as I am yet to test this myself.

It works. I did it a few months ago.

It works, but transfers from QBR are not Family Transfers. They are more of an "employer" to "employee" transfer.

Agreed; but I don't remember the original post mentioning family transfers; just transfers.

The only way "another QFF member" can transfer "their points" is via family transfer.
