Qantas Points Club Discussion

Bingo!

I don’t have any shopping points (yes, they can take an eternity) but one of my QH Hotel stays and associated bonus points activity was indeed from the previous member year.

But I’m now 31 pts in front! 🤔

Well, subject to a recount. There might be another QF Well-being post u missed…😁
Yes - 31 points sounds like Wellbeing rewards... and I've also found that these don't credit unless you are in the habit of opening the app? Could be you accrued something in one year and it posted in the next, but counts to the prior PC year (or at least one day's worth)

Also Bingo thanks @dairyfloss .

All of my QF Hotels points were for stays on or after 1-Aug so no issue there. But I found total of 1,568 points for activities from previous year: an Uber trip taken 31-Jul (42 points) and Online Shopping purchases made in April (440 points) and June (759 and 327 points.)

And like @SYD this puts me randomly ahead by a small amount, 15 points in my case as the actual discrepancy is 1553.

So mystery mostly solved.

IMO it seems a bit unfair to exclude these though, given the belatedly awarded points didn't help with the previous year's status as they weren't received then and a 3-4 month lag on online shopping is typical (as they wait out the returns period).

I've been assiduously recording my points on a spreadsheet since the PC program started. In the first couple of years I was puzzled why some points credited in my activity statement didn't credit to my PC total for the first 3 months of the new QF year. Then the penny dropped. They were all purchases from the QANTAS on-line store, with that proviso that they would take 3 months to land (ie after the returns period had passed). They were all purchases from the prior QF year. Apart from that not a relevant point has gone missing from my QF activity statement to my PC+ total.

And I saw that wine discussion on the previous page, and bought two bottles. (each purchased separately as you can only use one wine voucher per transaction)
$100 discounted to $59
10% off for PC+ = $53.10
$50 off for PC+ wine voucher = $3.10

Thanks for the heads up
But what was the points earn!? 🤣

Some members are more perfectionist than others.

New to points club : question if I may please?
If I booked Mel-Cbr-Syd CR Y, would it be 14 SC?
And DSC if booked in promo period - (whenever that will drop!)Screenshot_20240115_135108_Qantas.jpg

Status credit accrual rules are the same for Points Club as they are for flying on a revenue fare in the sense that status credits are earned on a sector by sector basis. In other words you would earn status credits for each sector flown based on the origin and destination of those sectors. In your case that would equate to 14 status credits total (7 for MEL > CBR, 7 CBR > SYD). In terms of double status credits promotion, that applies for all Qantas flights booked during the promotional period which would include classic flight awards.

I think the better question though is whether it is worth spending the better part of $100 on taxes and fees to earn those precious 7 status credits? For me, that's not a particularly good value for money.

Ok for J. Did 2 J redemption runs to MEL this year via CBR on DSC. Solid 72 SC one way there and the funny part is I never went to CBR.

Thanks @kangarooflyer88 and @elanshin
That is certainly something I will consider and agree should go J.
Don't need the SC's for this year but might for next.

Has the location of the Points Club vouchers changed? I swear it used to sit under Points Club (https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/my-account/points-club.html), but now it's just information for what it is rather than wine/hotel vouchers (yes, I'm logged in).
Voucher still sit there for me. Maybe it's all been used up?
Yes, if you use up all your vouchers, the dashboard reverts back to the old style outlining what PC is.

Also, the vouchers now automatically delete after use. Instead of having to click the “X” to hide used vouchers.

Hmm. Both my wife and I re-reached Points Club ages ago (me about 2 months ago, her about 6 months ago), and nothing. Used the old vouchers we got, but nothing since.

I believe for renewals they would come at the end of the anniversary. Something something Qantas IT something something.

You could probably press them a bit and they might send it to you manually.
