Qantas Points Club Discussion

I had a quick glance at the t&cs, I didnt see any exclusion for the gift cards. Some of them can be purchased for cash (not all), and that could yield 5000 points for 250$ in theory. I might give it a try as I need to hit some minimum spend.

Wishful thinking!

Bonus Points Offer Exclusions

  • Charities
  • Climate Positive Delivery
  • Gift cards
  • Offset Your Home and Car
  • Qantas Wine products

Ah right. This wasn't in the T&Cs attached to the email for the 5000 points, but the exclusion link was display for the 25% discount. Oh well.
I don't think they should have put a pic of the gift card in the email, very misleading, I nearly went for it, but luckily read the T&C

It would at the moment, but I reckon it's just an oversight and they'll add 'Between New Zealand and... East Coast USA' soon enough.

The LHR-SIN fifth freedom is covered by 'Between Europe and... Southeast Asia'.

Hopefully someone from Qantas is trawling and passes this feedback on lol.
Sure hope so!

Looks like the newest Marketplace promo is starting 3 days early for PC and PC+ members. 25% off most products when paying with points (only), or 5,000 bonus points for a $250+ cash spend. On from today for PC and PC+, starts from Monday 4 March for everyone else.
I hope this isn't one of those touted eclairs offers.

Zero value over the public offer tbh

Consistenly Inconsistent again
I noticed that my rewards booking flights were showing "potential SC earn" like they did earlier until I noticed this.

I've got two international CRs and one domestic CR booking, all in 'U', and they all show the 'If applicable...' message for me

Yes. I’ve never seen confirmation of the actual credits. Always the waiver.

It's been there last year for quite a while and was very accurate. for reference up until the start of the year that screenshot I had showed my estimated PVG > SYD flight too.

No rhyme or reason to mine. Some show expected SC earn, some do not. I wonder if they are pushing changes on the back end that are breaking it.

In regard to recent comment, I have not really seen a change in this for a couple of years. Some of this time I have not been PC.

I simply believe it to QF IT covering their @rses and I put no credence to any special coding.

Had anyone received Points Club voucher this year? I requalified for Points Club about 2 months ago but haven't received any of the wine or hotel vouchers yet. My membership year has another 7 months to go but I thought you get the vouchers when you earn the required QF points, not at the end of the membership year.

For first uear, I think you get the vouchers quickly after qualification. For requal, you get the vouchers at the end (maybe a few weeks later) of the membership.

I'm having a mental block this afternoon; can someone confirm something for me.

I've used/transferred the complimentary lounge passes on a number of occasions but can't remember the details regarding the expiry date.

Do you have to actually fly before the lounge pass expires or is it sufficient to just link the pass to a flight, even where the flight is after the expiry date?

Thanks in advance.

For QF, flight must be on/before expiry date.

For JQ, allegedly can use after expiry via the generated barcofe - though I do not recommend this - has just been mentioned anecdotally before.

I've heard that linking by the expiry is sufficient - at least it was for a JQ flight. Unsure if QF flights would be any diff.

I qualified for PC, and I am 54K QFF short of qualifying for PC+, which is due in 5 months (the anniversary date is 30 September).

Is it worth it for me to push for PC+? I don't travel QF much at all. If I do travel, I will travel with my family (total of 4 people together). I have been picking up QFF points here and there via credit card and home/car insurance signup bonuses.
