Qantas Points Club Discussion

One for the “Travel mistakes” thread - SYD+1 booked a long stay (~7 wks) AirBnB, I’m heading off shortly but check out is 30 July. Our QFF year resets 31 July! Nooooo.
Even if you checked out 1 August @SYD those points go towards your 2023/24 tally. Bit like SC's.
Took me awhile to get my head around it!

Sorry should have explained better.
Hotel costs $100
Qf points 300 + pc+ = 450 QF points for the booking. [received 450]
But
I have only received 150 points into my PC tally. (Keeping spreadsheet to compare each tally)
Also did you check all the tabs - sometimes it counts it weirdly like "bonus" or something

I’ll double check but I thought it’s “Checkout date” is the “Activity date” for PC?

Edit: no, it’s check in date! 😳

But, yes there was some discussion about a year ago trying to reconcile QFF YTD earn and PC earn. Hotels and shopping activity from the previous year were the main culprits.

My conversation with FF said check in date and she followed up with an email to that effect @SYD
Am waiting on one more hotel stay (check in 14/6) to post and that gets me PC+

Enjoy your 7 weeks away!

See my “Edit” but yes, my previous QF Hotel stays posted as “Check In” date as the activity date….

I think I already know the answer, but if I am due bonus points for a Qantas Insurance policy taken out in the current PC membership year and they delay the bonus points for 60 days which will fall in the next membership year, anyone have experience as to whether they set the activity date to the policy date?

Don’t think there is an activity date . It’s the the date of credit that matters .

See earlier comments RE “Activity” for Hotel stays. The activity date is key to which member year points count towards PC/PC+.

So it’ll depend on what activity date the bonus points show when they eventually post.

Note: to see “activity” date go to Date view in QFF activity. You’ll see points posting date and activity date.

My QFF account did a update last night, the 237 points NOW show up as ANZ, (not hotel points as I thought, funny that it was exactly 1.5 of $ spent)
No hotel points in PC, (due to staying in June) Thank you for that information.
Amex transferred last night, but is 140 points less in PC tally, Amex bonus points have not carried across. (maybe too soon?)

So back to my original question, total points (including 6 & 9 point bonuses + PC+) they should ALL carry across to my PC tally?

Is there real benefit for being PC+, I'm still undecided if I should transfer my WW points over Qantas for PC+. OTHER than hotel vouchers (didn't value much to me) or wine vouchers and Qantas Club membership - but don't value Qantas lounge for next 2 years as having Star Alliance Gold and Flying *A. Is there anything else I should consider for Qantas PC+ in my situation please?

100 SC rollover for those attaining/retaining status but doesn’t sound particularly relevant.

It is one of the few PC+ benefits for existing SG/WPs (the QP membership is otherwise useless to us).

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but can someone please confirm if flights booked as classic + earn any more status credits for Points Club passengers than classic award flights?

I've had somewhat of a bolter of a start to my new QFF & PC membership year, with 141K PC points banked, Green Tier re-attained & 200 SCs confirmed inside of 5 days from the starter's pistol :D

Can someone remind me... do you get any QC lounge passes on reaching the PC level, whilst en-route to PC+ (I'm PC+ already from retaining last membership year... which I suspect means 'no' is the likely answer).

I've got some family members who appreciate the goodies I never redeem due to status, and was hoping I'd see some more to be able to help them out. I'll add a whinge here again that the free but non-transferrable QC membership for PC+ is such a waste for QFF status members.

Cheers,
Matt.

I have two lounge passes that don't expire until December if you would like to PM me with their/your QFF numbers. They are from dropping to PC in March this year.

It looks like I will make PC+ at the end of February, so again I will receive a useless QC membership. Whatever happened after we were asked to vote on alternatives to QC?

That’s very kind of you - thanks! - though they don’t have any plans at this point, and unlikely to be before December when they do (just back from an NZ visit). I’ll have to watch the freebies threads next time they ask me!

Cheers,
Matt.
