Hi all, there's been a lot of negative feedback for the red roo lately, but I have some positive. Just called up to get a business class award seat released for next Feb SYD-HKG for my wife as they were all snapped up 2 weeks ago. I called the premium line with my request and had the seat booked and paid for with in 2 minutes. Awesome work QF premium, my wife is over the moon, and so am I as I know this is a popular route.

cheers, Dmitri

That's a good result.
I had phone call from QF this afternoon as I had 2 bookings (one held and one paid for) for the same day/destination and they were wondering the reason. Explained that we had booked PE and did pay later but then a companion J came up at a good price so booked and paid for that. You can't cancel pay later on line so was just going to leave it not bother ringing up to sit on hold but because of the phone call could release the seats back. Good follow up by QF.

+1

Called to go get an F award seat for LAX-MEL/SYD (didn't care which as I'd be connecting onwards to CBR). First agent tried but seems like she didn't get a response back right away so suggested I call back within 48 hours. Logged into QFF after I ended the call, the award seat release request PNR was showing in my bookings so clicked through to see that it was showing "requested" for QF12 and "confirmed" for QF94. Called back right away and was all booked in about 5 minutes.

Just a heads up... the automated seat release bot often goes down at 11pm and usually comes back a little after midnight. The requests get queued if you call during this time period.

If only we were all WP,S . Doesn,t happen for lower status Qantas FF,S

In recent times, QF have been doing their best to keep me happy:) Released 2x J award seats for Syd-Hnd in Jan next year so all 4 of us can fly J, and 3 days ago granted my upgrade request from J --> F Lhr-Syd for 60K pts. Last week, released a J award seat so I could book Syd-Lhr-Bud next year for +1 in J. Many thanks QF!

This seems the most appropriate thread that I could see easily.

As a repeated critic of Qantas - mostly its management practices and PR spin (oh and the IT and the ... never mind) I just wanted to say what a great flight and experience I just had QF94 LAX-MEL (dep LAX 22 May) . The F lounge at LAX was great, LAX / TBIT these days is actually pleasant in general, and the flight (in J) was just how I like it - uneventful; no drama or fuss. FAs were efficient and service was good. Announcements were clear, crisp and to the point. Even toilet delays were minimal  . Of course 'priority baggage' at MEL wasn't even close, but that's not seriously expected is it?

Of course its the flying that counts much more than what the management dorks do, so thumbs up QF.

Edit: And now I'm in the MEL J lounge, waiting for my flight to HBA; great coffee, juices and spread in general; catching up with the footy. Bliss.

I love positive threads. Currently in SYD F having one of my better lunches. Getting great service from everyone and even got waved in from downstairs without producing my BP

I've noticed the piped piano music in here, which I can't remember from before?? Very much like HKG Wing F.

Just a quick question the topic of releasing award seats. I notice they all seem to be for international flights (or at least that's what's mainly brought up) - and I'm wondering whether you could also do this for domestic flights, particularly say for the East/West coast flights?
