Anyone had experience being able to negotiate the fee on this one. Im about to hit renewal, quite like the card but can't justify the fee so considering cancelling or transfer to the Everyday, but ideal would be to keep the card at a reduced fee.

Any experiences people can share?

There are a few examples on the previous page where some have managed a full or a half refund of the fee. Hope to manage this too early next year.

As per Mumndads experience ,I was accidentally put through to qantas cards by QFF and when they asked if there was anything else they could do I mentioned I was thinking about cancelling the card and was there anything they could offer.
She mentioned the balance transfer and stepped payments which I declined , then she came back with full refund of the annual fee :)
I like this card for its 1 pt per dolar spend and have accepted the fee free offer for next year !
Heres my post of same

Yes see post #157, but I think someone got it even cheaper

So you have to pay the annual fee twice and wait 12 months to get the full points?

Yep seems that way. From the 'Important information' section;

Up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points offer is available to new approved Qantas Premier Platinum credit card account holders who apply by 28 February 2019. 70,000 bonus Qantas Points will be awarded when $3,500 is spent in the first 90 days from approval. Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Refunds, Chargebacks and Special Promotions do not contribute to the spend threshold. The 70,000 bonus Qantas Points will ordinarily be credited within 6 - 8 weeks of meeting the spend criteria. Once the annual fee is paid on the anniversary of the card approval, allow up to 12 weeks for the remaining 30,000 bonus points to be awarded. All rewards are subject to the Qantas Premier Credit Card Rewards Terms and Conditions. The account needs to be in good standing for bonus points to be awarded. Offer may be extended or withdrawn at any time.

My annual fee has just hit my account. I will be phoning this afternoon to see how I go with at least a reduction in the fee.

They're dreaming! Trying to force you to hold the same card for more than 12 months isn't going to happen.

Just phoned regarding the charging of my annual fee of $299. I said I did not wish to pay it and was there anything she could do. She had a looked at my card and said I was a good customer and she would reverse the fee today. It was actually easier than I thought, so I am happy with that, I actually like the card, although it was a pain initially to sign up. And my annual lounge passes have arrived too.

Maybe I'm not reading this right but there doesn't appear to be an exclusion period on this card??
Correct.

One of the few that doesn't have an exclusion period.

But reports indicate that they do not like it if you cancel and reapply within 6 months - sort of an off the books exclusion period.

For those wondering, you are not allowed to hold the Premier Everyday and Platinum at the same time.

Aaargh, I just got this card at the end of last week under the previous offer. Is it worth me calling and asking them to reduce the annual fee?

Cancelled my premier card today. It took exactly 20 minutes and multiple repeat statements from me asking them to cancel my card. Painful.

Can anyone kindly confirm if they have received the bonus points for this card within 12 months of cancelling the previous one please? Otherwise, I have to wait until June  Thank you!
