unlikely as Citibank (issuers of the QF Money cards) only supports Samsung Pay at the moment.
ah, and they haven't enabled samsung pay with this card? I have a virgin velocity card which I believe is with citibank..? and samsung pay works

Applied for this card on Saturday. Received a call today asking for another payslip. They also wanted to speak with HR, to confirm my employment details.

10 minutes after the call, I received an email and text saying I was approved.

Did they actually call your HR though?

Yep. HR manager took the call, but told them she'd have to check with me first before disclosing my information. Once she had my permission, she called them back. Afterwards the HR manager informed me that they were super thorough.

It's the first time that I recall a financial institution calling my employer.

That is surprising. I was going to get this card after dumping virgin's card but I'll probably just move onto anz Qantas instead

I had a message to call them, received at 1824 hours to discuss a very important matter. The caller sounded like he was at the bottom of a barrel on speakerphone with a whispering voice. Damned hard to hear.

I had to listen to the message a couple of times to understand what he was saying. Now will have to call back tomorrow between 0900-1800. I'll see how I go.

I've had the opposite, three separate calls on three separate days in a row, asking for information which I have already provided which they then acknowledge...

No calls to HR or anyone as yet though. Perhaps a sign I haven't even made it that far down their assessment process!

Was going to apply for my wife, but given that information, I think I'll give it a miss. I'm not keen on employers being called regarding this information when the pay slips provide everything they need to know. Citibank really know how to keep me away from them!

Called back today and the person could barely speak English. Took twice as long as it should have because I had to repeat every word. Wants more information. Why two payslips when they are iterative?

Am getting frustrated.

My HR manager knows that I churn CC's, and that they fund my many trips in J (and occasionally F), so I wasn't worried about her being contacted.

Seems like a very wide variation in experiences here and if somebody from Qantas Money is reading, they should take note.

In my case, I did get a call - on the same day I made the application. A few questions and confirmations of information from my credit file and an hour later, email received confirming approval. Card was received 4 business days later.

Android Pay/Samsung Pay should really have been turned on from the get go. Here's hoping the functionality is not too far away.

I had a good experience too. I applied one lunchtime. I received a call that arvo to clarify a few things. I was approved and received the card within a week. Received bonus points when first statement issued. Bendigo on the other hand I still don’t have my card after a month and 5 phone calls. Stuff up after stuff up.

And the card has arrived today. Little hard to activate, took awhile to realise you cannot have a symbol at the start of the password. But all done now and have started spending.

Hi All,

I was approved for this card on 16th Jan. I received it around 22nd Jan and activated, then started using it on 24th Jan. I quickly spent the minimum $3k by the 2nd Feb (had a few bills I was holding off to use this card for). I was just wondering when I might expect the bonus points to arrive. I am about 50k points short for an award booking I want to make, and not sure if I should wait for the points to arrive or look into other options.

Cheers,

Adrian

I would expect them to arrive on your cycle date, about 16 February.

Great... thanks for that. I can wait for the points then. If it was going to be next month same time, I would have had to do something else, so was keen to get moving on that to book early for a better fare. Hopefully nobody takes the award seats in the next few days!

Hi All,

Quick questions. I am about to make a travel booking on Qantas using classic rewards which will include about $2k for taxes (flight costs would be $15k otherwise). I have Amex Ultimate and Qantas Premier, and I am not sure which I should use to pay. Will the taxes payed online via qantas website count as Qantas spend? I am curious of a few things:

* Do I get the bonus point per $ for qantas spend if spend is on taxes only (online via qantas website)? It says you get them for flights with QF number booked on qantas FF site. Not sure if taxes counts. The booking includes mostly emirates, but a QF and Jetstar flight also.
* Will the payment of taxes for the flights enable the travel insurance? It says it is enable by >$500 spent on return flights or booked using points earned on the card. I just got the card and most of my points were earned using my amex. If I use points to book and pay for taxes using my Amex, will the Qantas Premier travel insurance be enabled? (Would they know if the points used were earned from the Premier card?)

Cheers,

Adrian
