Yeah, one question was all about names for it. I was like it's Qantas Club annual membership, keep it the same and let the wanna be's deal with it. (I feel I can say that as I still have 9-10 months QP membership on hold for when I drop off the Status bus)

They seem to be just making the name sound better as there were options for 30 day paid pass.

I got the survey as well. Looks like they are toying with the idea of a "QC Light" monthly, cancel anytime subscription. Includes lounge access to Qantas operated lounges only, does not include any of the other QC benefits such as extra luggage.

On one end its basically updating their strategy to fit in with the new generation. Everything is now monthly subscription and the younger generation are more familiar with this model. Annual subscription still exist but people also might balk at forking out $600 (?). Instead if you say offer it at $60 a month you might get more bites.

It would however certainly mean more people having access to the applicable lounges.

Oh i just noticed the lack of guesting as well. This is paid lounge access and instead of selling one off lounge passes, you're selling monthly subscription.

There's definitely many use cases and it would come down to the price per month.

Agree. One of the many reasons I avoid LAX if i can.

Problem there is that it's not a Qantas lounge but a OW lounge ran ny Qantas.

From a user's viewpoint, do we really need more people in the QP?
From QF's viewpoint, converting the clientele toward those who pay directly for the access instead of it being baked into the flight prices (or otherwise). More cash, please...

I received the survey as well. Not a fan but fly enough to not need to buy it. I still have nearly two full years of paid QC sitting there waiting to be refunded when I get LTG, one day.

Who in their right mind would pay for monthly lounge membership? The food there is complete slop, it would be better just to buy a decent lunch/dinner elsewhere.

That’s my understanding but I was replying to @smckay

It was a few years back before I found out about rewards flights, but I'm sure when we were there as QC members TBIT was excluded. I thought it funny as we were allowed into LHR and DXB business lounges but not the LAX one. And we stood around LAX for a few hours whilst I received daggers from my missus for getting there so early.
I think at the time it was only managed by QF and not a full QF lounge (?). I just looked at QC T&C and it doesn't mention it.

So they would pay for lounge but not business class? Seems a bit weird. In my experience companies are either really cheap and won't pay for anything other than an economy ticket or they just pay for business class.

Not when QF J tickets were 800+ one way a pop for a syd - mel and economy is 250 or less. It's the same logic as seeing WP1 / CL suits in QF row 4.

Also you can get a bit of work done in the lounge. It's always reasonably ok to find a table to pull out a laptop and do something unless there's a huge delay happening. That is not necessarily the case in the terminal.

I'd say there are practical people who basically sees absolutely no value in Dom J for short hop runs but can see the value in a lounge.
