Qantas Restaurants points - post your successes/failures

Not quite as devastating as the demise of xASAs

Poor darts. Dimmi was a pretty cough reward system and don''t think I'll use that going forward as redemption is so hard.

  • One of the most frustrating things about the program is Qantas not reporting which venue the points have come from, so you are never quite sure if you received everything unless you are keeping records. It would be much better if the restaurant points program had a pending section on your Qantas account like the Qantas mall so it is easier to track
  • I have had smaller business cancel the booking after I have dined so no FF points are payable, and I don't think it was an accident. I think it is a deliberate strategy to get the benefit of the program and the customers, and not pay whatever fees apply
  • Conversely there are a number of larger venues or chains where you still get points if you don't turn up or have less diners than booked. I think the employees just don't care or not trained in managing the booking system - not suggesting you do this but did get a few points this way ;-) which makes up for all of the other ones I have been paid

Oh well, was nice while it lasted.

Just hope my final few booking points come through next month. One of them a nice one with with 23 persons and in my birthday month! ;)

Just organised probably my last one - my business Xmas lunch for 5 at a local restaurant. Will probably get the points by 31 January...

How did you manage to book that? Maximum number on the drop down is 14.

This venue allows up to 19 on the website. When they called to confirm they updated the number for me to 23 sent me a new confirmation email from Dimmi/Qantas.

[edit] sorry, this should say 16, not 19.

I've on a few occasions booked over 20. Some restaurants have a larger drop down list for people as I too have seen the 14 or 16 limit.

I just sent a query to the Qantas-branded email at Dimmi ([email protected]) yesterday, to ask about one booking that was yet to be posted after more than two months (website says up to eight weeks) and three others which were still in the period (albeit more than a month behind for two of them).

Checking my Qantas balance a couple of hours later, points for the first three had posted. (All four had different head counts so it's possible to identify which booking earned which points.) The fourth was only a couple of weeks ago so I'm not concerned yet.

Did anyone else get points confirmed in the last couple of days? I'm curious about whether they actually just got to confirming a batch of them on the day I followed-up, or whether my query specifically got the ball rolling.

Has anyone tried using an Entertainment Card with a Qantas booking. If so, what was the result?

Done this many times without problems (and received both benefits).

Both systems run concurrently and independently.

Received points yesterday for booking on 30th September

And it's good they paid for how many you booked for rather than how many attended - just asked that question in another thread so you can ignore it now - well done

I think I posted in one of the threads, I've had mixed reviews (not that it matters soon) about how many booked v how many attended. It's not a given.
