Fingers crossed...Wonder if Qantas will adjust the waiver rules now that DFAT have changed their advisory for the entire world to Level 4 - "Do Not Travel".

With a do not travel in place would suggest waiting for them to cancel unless you are flying this week.Wonder if Qantas will adjust the waiver rules now that DFAT have changed their advisory for the entire world to Level 4 - "Do Not Travel".
You cant change reward bookings through the website - as the website doesnt allow you to "voucher" the flights - just cancel.Has anyone managed to cancel their bookings now that Qantas had allowed cancellations until 31 March (for which you receive travel credit)
The site says you can do it through MYB but none of my flights have a cancel option and I don't want to be calling them.
More annoying 6k points per sector were deducted.
Trying to get them back through "Customer Care"(this title must be a joke).
Have tried to update my post at post #76 to reflect the update but for some reason I can't edit it.Qantas seems to have clarified the issue a bit more now. From their Facebook page

If you’re booked to fly up until 31 May 2020 and no longer wish to travel, you can avoid change fees by having the value of your fight transferred to a flight credit. This credit can be redeemed up until 30 September 2020 or 12 months from the original date of ticket issue, whichever date is later.
For anyone who’s already made use of this offer and received a credit that expires before 30 September, we’ll extend it to 30 September 2020. It can be used for any travel dates available when you go to redeem it.
Go to Manage Booking Manage booking | Qantas AU on Qantas.com, click ‘Cancel’, then ‘Voucher’. Your flight credit may take some time to process, so please be patient.
Our Call Centres are under significant pressure responding to the rapidly evolving travel situation. Our call centre and social media teams are working around the clock to proactively contact and re-accommodate our customers. At this stage we are prioritising those with imminent travel. We ask that you reconsider your need to contact us unless your travel is commencing within the next 72 hours.
If your flight was booked through a travel agency or third-party website, contact them directly.

The way I read it, everyone’s voucher will be up to 30 September 2020 if they booked before 1 Oct 2019, or otherwise it will be later. That voucher will need to be used by the due date, but the flights won’t have to be taken, so you probably have up until at least August 2021 to travel.
I can guarantee they will take away the $400 fee for cancellation before you get your refund.I cancelled over 48 hours ago (before the announcement, without an option for a voucher) and neither have the trip removed from MMB nor any sort of credit which I'm unlikely to get, so I suspect those who have requested vouchers will be waiting some time longer, perhaps until the booking system has the logic to process cancellations correctly.
That's odd Hillbilly. Perhaps wait a few more days.Has anyone managed to cancel their bookings now that Qantas had allowed cancellations until 31 March (for which you receive travel credit)

NoThe recent Qantas offers of credit vouchers to cancel flights. Do we have to pay change fees when we use the credit vouvhers to re-book our flights?
can you just wait until the last day of voucher validity and book any flight 12 months from then? The problem with this offer is that the voucher isn’t valid for 12 months from date of travel, it’s 12 months from the booking date which, in my case, still lands it in the possible range of this virus. And you lose the lot if you don’t use it. So I might just bite the bullet, pay the cancellation fee and get cash.
Emails I received yesterday and today have this content (changed from last week):The problem with this offer is that the voucher isn’t valid for 12 months from date of travel, it’s 12 months from the booking date which, in my case, still lands it in the possible range of this virus. And you lose the lot if you don’t use it. So I might just bite the bullet, pay the cancellation fee and get cash.
Note the credit can be used for booking up to 353 days from the date of use, effectively giving until early September 2021.* The flight credit can be redeemed up until 30 September 2020 or 12 months from the original date of ticket issue, whichever date is later. The change fee will be waived. Flight credits can be used for travel on any domestic or international flights. Qantas will waive the change fee when customers are ready to rebook, however the customer will need to cover any fare increase in their new booking.
I'm holding out till travel is banned and Qantas are forced to refund cash, not travel credit.
My cancelled flights were booked on 17 July 2019. Credit voucher is valid for 12 months from that date. New flights DO NOT have to be taken from that date. For example, on July 14 this year I can book flights to Japan for March next year. (Depending of course on the future of flying.)can you just wait until the last day of voucher validity and book any flight 12 months from then?
ie mine is dec 11... meaning any flight until dec say 3 or 4 2021 is able to be booked...?

I read it as: if your voucher expires on any date IN September, expiry will be advanced until 30th. Am happy to be wrong though. They've said credit vouchers will be valid at least until 30th September, I think.

I would think you are covered for the voucher as your trip commences before March 31st. But today’s Do Not Travel warning might mean flight cancellations and Qantas will have to refund in cash (card). If QF does not actually cancel flights, you still have time to cancel and claim the credit voucher.Hi guys, I too will wait for Qantas to make further announcements before changing flights, but in case they don't make them in time, I'd appreciate any help.
I have an international flight out on 30 March, returning 3 June - which is outside the fee-free cancellation period. I've received the email telling me to change/cancel the booking, but what are your thoughts on whether the $800 cancellation fee will be waived? The terms are a bit vague (to me) regarding whether or not a trip such as this will be exempt, considering the return is outside their exemption timeframe.
Yes, me too. Have Qantas flights to the UK. Just holding off till the last moment.I haven’t yet but will be in next few days just holding on to the last minute... anyone else?
