Popped into the lounge briefly on Monday. Between 17:10 and 17:40. Lounge was already filling up. I am P1 but was flying EK. Pleased to say I got the P1 treatment — escorted into lounge, to the reserved white seats, and offered table service. When Faith saw me she greeted me warmly, and despite her best efforts to encourage me to stay, she eventually agreed I was wise to leave the lounge soon and head to the quieter EK lounge.
Lounge was close to full by the time of departure, with people starting to wander around for seats.
There were lots of kids. But the lounge was actually nice and quiet and I only left because I had another option.
Also really pleased to see that while the black leather seats were reserved for CLs they didn’t get table service (at least as far as I could see) and the staff were much more amenable to randos sitting there rather than the First / P1 space.
As I left there was a queue out the door to get into the lounge. And a stream of people coming up the escalator — the majority surely headed to the QP.
At 17:50 this was the EK lounge:
If you have access it’s a no-brainer. Admittedly EK has fewer, later flights. But even at its peak I doubt their lounge was more than 70 per cent full.
