I thought you might have booked JHB-KUL-AUH-SIN-BNE-MEL which is possible on EY for $500, talk about a mileage run!

I did look at that option and considered it though as AUH-SIN-BNE is one number only means to extra to MEL and the timing is inconvenient I want to see AUH also leaving at 2200 much better then 1000 and I have work that night also so arriving in Sydney around 1800 wasn't going to work well for a 2300 start.

Incredible value!!

Unfortunately the DEL and BOM weren't for me :/ my partner is going to a wedding in JDH and reception in CCU so I made it a little put of a tour over two weeks of Easter.

I plan to also join however until I confirm time off I wasn't able to book for myself.

I've made a booking for friends on the .br site for NAP-FCO-SYD and return. It's on 081 ticket stock which I believe is QF, and reading the QF site I shouldn't be able to select seats until on line check in opens (without paying). They have no FF status.

However, I've gone in and selected seats no problems. Have I missed something when I've been reading the site or does this sound normal?

Is anyone else pretty stunned that this "loophole" is still open? .br I mean.

Admittedly it has made me head to SIN twice in 6 months when normally it would safely be 0.

I can't believe it's still open either, but I wonder what QF can do. I had my first trip to Singapore last week and there were plenty of spare seats, I'd estimate Y was 40% full going over and 50% coming back which made for two pretty comfortable flights. When SIN is on sale again (within the next few weeks if recent history is any guide) I'll be booking again.

Like you, without the benefit of .br these are two bookings QF wouldn't have gotten from me so maybe they're happy to be at least getting bums on seats and some additional revenue coming in?

I think what usually happens with other airlines is there is a different set of base fares for Latin America given their laws regarding surcharges. Qantas just doesn't seem to do this for certain sale fares to certain destiations.

Given the length of time that this has been 'open', I agree it is probably a deliberate accident to increase loadings. It certainly has been well publicised enough for people to notice.

Loadings vary. my QF5 SYD Sin on Friday was a 747, and not an empty seat in Y. I got op-up to premium (v happy about that), and there were two empty in that cabin. I have also used .br this year for a couple flights I would not otherwise have made.

It was a pretty full flight on QF81 on Thursday. No op-up unfortunately and no recognition or little extras. The crew were generally friendly and it was a reasonably good flight despite being in Y.

I'm also seeing on a lot of searches that when I press "Select" to go to the summary screen that a message comes up saying Oops, the price has changed.

Is this a regular thing with any of you who use the .br site regularly?
I see that quite a lot on the Expedia sites.

It usually means a combination of flights is unavailable and you should not have been able to select them even though you were allowed. Or something along those lines.

Is SYD-HKG not usually available on this deal? I am looking to travel late July 2014 and return early August 2014.

If I search for HKG-SYD the flights appear but the airfare looks to be the same as the airfare on Qantas website.

Is SYD-HKG likely to get any lower around those dates? Currently $986 on Qantas website and I can also use a $500 gift voucher.

Would be nice to get back on a QF A380. If they are still around. You just never know.

Don't know why either, but hazarding a guess, SIN, BKK and KUL (the most common destinations through .br) are probably in a different international 'region' compared to HKG.

Looking at their recent restructuring of international ticketing, the documentation is "For travel to North and South America, South Africa, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Indonesia, and Philippines" (i.e. not including Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia)

The theory falls down a bit, as some have been able to find limited .br deals to SYD-NRT...

The recent restructure did not include ports covered by the JSA with EK.

Can someone repost the link to the ticketing site that lets you search expedia brazil tickets by setting ticketing location to rio... I used it a few months ago but can't find it anymore!
