Some feedback on .br booking.
It worked and there were no nasty surprises other than ending up on Emirates joint QF flight. I had trouble with language, but a second open tab on google translate got me through. Another hiccup on credit card, but got over this too. Conversion rate 2.1, so I saved $240. QF wins a 5 year drought & (2 years with JQ).
I also warn google translate will turn local currency to aussie currency - perhaps a deliberate bug - that may scare 99% of people off On your CC , you will get the local price. I cannot explain how BAD it is for Airlines to loose a customer, because the tricky deals are too tricky.expedia.uk and other expedias were cheaper, br seemed cheapest. Prices went up a lot on weekends, so I went weekday on a redeye arrival. They should send a custom deal 'same time, same place, same price+ offer out' if they need to fill seats - but the airlines are all too dumb to twig on. You get a QF booking number, so you go to the QF site, login and add your details. All done.
Loosers: Well SQ to HK missed out. Air Asia missed out, so did Flyscoot. And the .br was cheaper than Jetstar too.
I also noticed Scoot and Air Asia ramping up prices in low season and on weekends, and luggage fees hikes. Their mistake was being too close to 'full service' airlines. Scoot can also blame Snowden for lost sales, as I will never touch facebook, ever.
And if QF was wishing for a more $$, I was sorely tempted by a Chinese airline at around $800 all in.
However the xmas deals were too elusive for me this year, so I will stay at home, and go low season. Hats off to EK for going for market share. Maybe my next trip will be QF. I am happy to book a year ahead.
