QF used to have plenty rewards seats SYD-CGK but they’ve gone MIA along with SIN and othersAlways good to have some competition. If I’m paying I’d probably prefer GA as they offer a better product but hopefully QF has plenty of award seats like SYD-CGK to take advantage of
I haven’t checked lately but that’s disappointing if so. CGK is a great transit point and often cheap J flights to Europe so was a good use of pointsQF used to have plenty rewards seats SYD-CGK but they’ve gone MIA along with SIN and others
That’s how I know… Been looking at ways to leverage some QR, AA and AY J fares. There was loads of J reward seats a few months ago and now nothin much post June . Not even much in whY.I haven’t checked lately but that’s disappointing if so. CGK is a great transit point and often cheap J flights to Europe so was a good use of points

But at least it looks like the new MEL flights are loaded.
But I saw J reward seats.Even the introductory "sale" fares for Y at $900 seems a bit extortionate
Indeed - TK often does one stop fares from CGK via IST to lots of destinations that start from $3.6k...I haven’t checked lately but that’s disappointing if so. CGK is a great transit point and often cheap J flights to Europe so was a good use of points
Yes, very good J award availability on this new route. Jump on it before it disappears! But I saw J reward seats.
And not the same flight number as PER (QF53?) so there may still be a chance? No mention of PER in the press release
GA still has 2x weekly MEL-CGKMakes sense, with Garuda's struggles. Effectively replaces the GA CGK-MEL service that operated prior to March 2020.
Oh I forgot they recommenced that one, they didn't restart DPS, getting the two mixed up. I guess between the QF and GA services it is almost back to the frequency that GA used to operate (5 or 6/week IIRC, or maybe even daily at some point).GA still has 2x weekly MEL-CGK
