Same here, I have an I class booking SYD-SIN-LHR on QF1 at the moment and they have changed that to QF5 to SIN and then connecting onto QF3345 which is BA12, asked to go via DXB but they say that I class is not available on any flight via DXB. So instead of A380 I am getting old QF747 and BA, not really the same travel experience I reckon.

:evil:Could be worse......it could have been F.

No option to apply for an ORC?

Interestingly the answer was no. I was a little surprised but it's no big deal. I wonder whether I may be able to change back to QF2/10 nearer the travel date when agreements and wotnot are in place.

I also had an email today saying we have been switched to QF6 from QF2 in April. Sin - Syd.
No big deal as its only 20 minutes time difference.

However, I paid extra at the time to fly on the A380 so I could have saved myself some $$.
I was also pretty pleased with our seat selection on QF2, not so happy with whats available for us to chose on the new flight.
I was thinking of ringing and pointing out that we paid extra for our flight and ask for a couple of lounge passess.....what do you think our chances are seeing as how we chose a dearer flight initially?

You would find that what you paid for the 380 flight was not due to it being 380.

For that fact, your chances of lounge passes are nil. Not much chance at all sorry to say

I think the chances are pretty good. Altough, believe it or not, its pretty tough to get passes from them. If you follow it up, they may refund you a difference. However, I was told by a Qantas customer service operator "to make sure you have travel insurance incase their is an out of pocket charge that has been incurred. Interessting comment. I chose not to follow up on this.

Well I will give it a try, whats the worst that could happen, they could say no. I will report back if I have any luck.

Presumably at which point they will switch to oneworld hub Berlin, flying from Australia via Dubai, perfectly timed for Brandenburg's (latest new) opening date on 27th October 2013?

(Berlin obviously being the key German destination NOT serviced by Emirates from Dubai.)

I'll I doubt it, I'd still pretty much wet myself if QF flies to Berlin.

My SIN-LHR FASA has changed to BA instead...

I'm going to request it be routed as SIN-DXB-LHR, I'm not keen to fly BA

BA in F on a 744 is very good. Just dress lightly, as their aircon is often a bit on the warm side.

back on QF1 now so happy again :D

Not seen it mentioned, but presumably the loss of FRA as a destination on QF metal would eradicate the very well priced S7 codeshare to DME? I was really looking forward to taking advantage of it when I next flew to Europe, so I hope there's a way it will still work through S7!

just got told that i have to switch over to BA :(

Just make sure you are not put on BA16......BA12 is for you! The odds are in your favour with BA12 - British Airways route overview - FT Dashboard BTW, NF means New First cabin - OF means Old coughpy First cabin.

747 F.....is a must - at least once.

Also, if you are arriving into LHR on BA in F and you are transiting to another BA flight from T5.....you have guaranteed access to the CCR. Might interest you, for some it's a tick the box kinda lounge:D A short hop over to CDG in whY for a bit of lunch......won't set you back too much:idea:

The Concorde Room, although was on my bucket list, proves to be just another lounge! I was completely underwhelmed.

I prefer NF on the 777. 1A on the 747 is cramped, especially in with the buddy chair.

We didn't have a great time or think that much about it either....posted a thread on FT about our visit. It developed into a bit of nasty tread:shock:

However, I like the fact that I experienced the CCR rather than not at all! Even if the OP doesn't like it - he will always have that lunch in Paris;):D

I'm a big 744 fan - sitting in 1A or 1K with nothing in front of you, is bliss:cool::D

Well I had some luck, no lounge passes but they agreed to refund the price difference.

I had a nice chat with someone in the call centre, explained that I could have booked the cheaper flight but wanted to experience the A380, explained that I was not anoyed at the flight change and was happy with the alternative flight but kicking myself that I paid around $100 extra. It was refered to a supervisor who confirmed the prices available when I booked, they reminded me that at any time when bookings are made that flights can change etc etc, but they agreed in this one off instance to refund the difference.

So I am pretty happy with Qantas right now.
