Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Another data pt: No upgrade today :-(

However, earlier in the yr, got the sms... more losses than wins though :-(
I'm slowly getting less and less hopeful for my flight next week. It's an A330 on a domestic leg so very popular with the businesspeople (the platinums, in other words)

With the extremely high prices for flying J these days, and as a self funded flyer, I am going to have to book Y+ (or even flex Y) for FLL and LJR return flights in the next couple of years and cross my fingers for successful upgrades. 🤞 🙏
Another reason to keep WP status.

Would not hold my breath ...but then again one can get lucky. Remember to tick the, at the gate box (or whatever its called) so you have a bit more chance. If flight is full...then nada... happy to look it up if its on expert... if u lmk flight. Mods is posting a screen shot here frowned upon?

Won't mention airlines here but some will upgrade at checkin if seats exist regardless of tkt type.

It's a domestic leg, so no at the gate box. Everyone's automatically in for an on-departure upgrade as far as I know. I've got an EF subscription myself so have been looking on and off, it's sitting at J6 C6 D4 with 12 seats for selection last I looked so hopefully I'm in with a chance. P1 and WP upgrades should process tomorrow at some point.

aaaaand now down to J3 C3 (presumably WP, P1 have just gone through)

Good luck!!! You never know :-)

Interestingly non pts (free) upgrades at gate over the years - been upgraded just once (or none at all) by qf and many times by QR/EK (couple of times 2pax). If I had to hazard a guess they are actively trying to poach/entice qf freq flyers over?

You are having some atrocious luck. Such a miserable upgrade success rate.
Most of my travel is during US peak times Eg Sunday from MEL, Thursday or Friday return.

PE success very high (85%), just J remains elusive, hopefully improving once the A380 makes a more regular appearance.

QF2 is quite empty in J so hopefully they come to the party. Will plead my case at the gate

Still a tough pill to swallow as a WP. Both my partner and I have had 100% success on securing United J award/upgrade seats flying to/from the US during peak times over the last few months and we have absolutely no status with United.

Shame it requires flying United ;)

My SG colleague who tends to stay over the weekend is having much more success on a Sunday or Monday return. Misses all the Aussie business travellers I guess
