Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

In hindsight, I probably didn’t. Just went to the boarding pass. Thanks for the tip, I’ll be frantically checking every trip now.
Refresh, refresh, refresh. LOL
I think the "upgrade successful" app label is a recent(ish) thing - have had some VIP upgrades from almost a year or so ago that didn't have such a message, just a seat change. When I went to the counter for a re-print BP, it had the VIP team message.

Usually only check the app for a gate change or delay that sometimes may not be on the screens in the lounge, not for a VIP upgrade. I've probably had them at most 1 in 10 flights!

I have an apparent upgrade SYD-BNE in a couple of days. Requested yonks ago (U was available but didn’t immediately clear), seat change to J a month or so after, no confirmation message and no points deduction. And I’m no VIP. Suspect it has something to do with being a flight on a JL ticket.

Given there appear to be apples in my cart I’m not ringing up to clarify.

Cheers skip

VIP team is the team looking after P1s/CL, they replaced the old SST.

You might be getting it mixed up with CIP - commercially important passenger. They are a separate category on the iPad manifest.

Further to my comment about missing or incomplete upgrade SYD-BNE, I wasn't able to through check to BNE from CDG. An email to the QF upgrades escalation team yielded a points deduction of the correct (lower) amount. Finally checked in at SYD domestic transfer desk after a supervisor was called and upgrade seats came through after a lot of tapping. Seems that the upgrade was granted when the seating changed but JL never reissued or revalidated their ticket.

cheers skip.

QF11 T-28 Y to J (but on an O fare!!) Bronze FF (Qantas Club), it pays to make a phone call to customer service sometimes!

Sunday QF856 PER-CBR, B738. Upgrade successful t-14.
Tuesday QF781 MEL-PER, A332. Upgrade successful t-15.

All tickets Red e-deal, booked via corporate travel agent and points upgrade requested 2 weeks prior to travel. I'm only Bronze FF so very surprised to get both. A332 product is very good, chalk and cheese from B738. Both flights J class were full.
