It's a good question, and one I don't recall seeing before! I don't believe so, unless perhaps as a tie-breaker with other pax who have upgrade requests in. I think there is a way to request upgrades from the AA side on QF flights now, as well, and if possible, this might give them a higher go in the pecking order as an AA EXP, but not really certain. It's all in the dark arts category, this stuff!Does anyone know if oneworld status factors into upgrade priority? I'm WP, putting in for a points upgrade for my sibling who is AA EXP and wondering if there's any priority over an NB on the same flight?
Out of curiosity, how many points did you spend in total for SYD-HND then?Success - Y (classic plus) to J - QF59 SYD - HND at T-1 no status
Fail on the return trip QF26
Still decent value though, beats 10hrs in whY!47000 on the Y fare + 69700 on the upgrade = 116700.
Of course not as good value as just J classic reward…

Offset a little by the reduced carrier surcharges - On that route currently reward Business YQ is $105 while Economy is $55 ...Of course not as good value as just J classic reward…
Traveling on QF35 this Saturday as SG and expect the same result. Showing J2 available.Fail - QF36 SIN-MEL Y to J as SG. 100% full flight operating a 787 instead of usual A330. Included W seats sold as Y...but I didn't realise so unable to change seat.

My understanding is QF are short on A330s due to maintenance which is causing a few equipment shuffles.I'm on QF448 at 1:40pm on Wednesday 2 April 2025 and just trying to gauge the chances of an upgrade. Could anyone grab the loading for me?
Anyone able to shed some light on why there would be 2 x wide bodies going from MEL to SYD in the middle of the day on that Wednesday (the other being QF440 at noon)?
