Just landed from qf568 red eye on a 737, wifi worked good suprised was not mentioned well I guess most people just wanted to sleep

QF 1H result today suggested over 30% of 737s now WiFi equipped.

So 20-something aircraft.

From airliners.net with addition of XZB (confirmed via photos)

VH-VYB (Currently being fitted at SYD).
VH-VZL,O, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z .(9)
VH-XZA through P . (16)

Essentially all BSI AVOD equipped aircraft have WiFi and about half the non-BSI AVOD aircraft

On one right now! Posting live :)

Getting 31 down and 6 up which isn’t as fast as my NBN but good enough for working and streaming Netflix in the background.

From the reliable EK413 in airliners.net

VH-EBB 1st WiFi equipped A332 rolls out Monday & will undergo test and certification flights.

From prior reports the 332 will use a different antenna to the 737s - a hybrid Ku/Ka antenna that can transition between the NBN Ka band over Australia and other Ku band satellites as it flies into Asia or Trans Tasman.

Hopefully she'll emerge with some special decals like -XZB did.

My sources are also saying that -EBB has undergone a heavy check whilst in BNE.

Is she remaining a predominantly domestic aircraft or has she also undergone international refurb, with the addition of an extra loo in J and proper crew rest facilities added?

Typically the older aircraft like EBB (with the iPads) are domestic and they use the IFE aircraft more internationally.

Think it had been predicted that it would be the IFE aircraft that got the conversion, though don't think QF has confirmed this.

AFAIK it's all the A330's will convert to the international config.

I see that QANTAS now offers free 4 or 1 month Apple Music subscriptions for new or existing users with the QANTAS app when you have a booking.
More info on the QANTAS site.
More IFE with meditation, music and movies

Has anyone managed to get this offer?
I only got the offer for the 3 month trial of Audible with my next booking so was wondering if the free Apple Music offer is available yet.

Does -XZB currently have wifi, saw a recent pic of her and from the angle of the image she doesn't appear to have the dome on the roof?

I was on VZV yesterday.

2 things:

1. Streaming of football (AFL/Big Freeze 4) was perfect. No issues.

2. Kudos to the CSM who provided his ipad (I think personal, not the CSM one as it had the AFL app on it :) ) to some folks in row 2 who could not get their devices working. What a great gesture.

There were quite a few watching on the plane from wht I could tell and no major effect on quality that I could tell except one small "pause" at one point of around 3-4 seconds.

I was pretty impressed.. on all counts.
