Qantas Wine latest offering

Has anyone tried the E&T Cab Sav...would be interested in your views before I purchase. Some Redbrook area wines are good a lot are not worth anything IMO.

PS Just got a free year of Epicure membership sent to me:)

I do have space under my desk after gifting quite a number of bottles lately - with the Evans & Tate sounds interesting, so I'm in.

I didn't get the usual Thursday email. Grateful for Mr_Orange posting, Epiqure should give you an another bottle for those additional sales you have put their way :D

Almost, my calcs say 30.75 points per $1 (which is even further reduced if you factor in CC points as well), so your figure may be correct for particular card earning.

Too tempting to turn down

I hadn't factored base or CC points. If you rate the purchase value of an international J Qantas point at say 3c, then the case is valued at $240 and the wine then really costs $30/case or $5 a bottle. Of-course if you rate international J at 4c then they are paying you to drink. :rolleyes:

edit: Has anyone tasted the Chardy or the Cab.Sav.?

No matter how you look at it, if you like the wines then the offer is good value :)

The points seemed good. Thought I might give the Cabernet a whirl....until I looked up Jeremy Oliver's rather scathing review of it.

Lean, under-ripened and leathery, with a briary, lanolin-like bouquet of redcurrants, blackberries and minty nuances. Medium in weight, it's thin and greenish, with sour-edged fruit that lacks conviction and ripeness. 82 points.

Hmmm...I tend to agree with his notes in general.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this great offer. Appeared as a sponsored ad on Facebook yesterday. 5000 points for $197 case of 6. I bought two.

Link to the page -....

Good for points but at DM you will pay;

  • $27.55 in any six
  • $163.50 per case of 6
  • $28.99 per bottle
