QantasLink to replace Q200/Q300s with mid-life Q400s

Skytrans and Qantas are unrelated. Skytrans were the only other Australian airline with expertise in running the equipment that’s needed to service LDH economically so Qantas saw an effective way of exiting the operation while providing continuation of service to the island.

So, Qantas is getting rid of its Q200s and Q300s but still requires Q200s to service LDH; however, it intends to contract Skytrans to provide the Q200s? Will this be in Skytrans's livery?

Their strategy is to acquire a larger, younger, and more economical fleet of Q400s.

Do we know the commercial arrangement between Skytans and Qantas? Is Skytrans a subsidiary of Qantas, or does it have some control and influence over its operations?
Will be a codeshare partner. Skytrans livery. QF codeshare.

Ok so like Air North

84A & -84B, the first two “midlife” Q400s ferried to Adelaide today to make that base solely Q400 ops. Qantas supposedly has sold their 300s in one hit to a single buyer.

Regional South Australian travellers will benefit from more seats and improved reliability as Qantas today upgrades all regional routes from Adelaide to the larger QantasLink Q400 turboprop aircraft.

The introduction of the larger Q400 aircraft into Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Mount Gambier and Kangaroo Island has been made possible by the airline’s significant investment in 14 additional Q400s for its regional fleet to better connect regional Australia. Once the transition is complete, Qantas will have three Q400s based in South Australia.
